Excellent as always
I won't spend too much time giving the same positive information as everyone else, including myself, from previous visits (this is my fourth time staying here). The staff are beyond excellent; they can't be faulted. They are attentive, helpful, smiling, and hard-working—always. The site is fantastic, from the reception down to the sea, all beautifully laid out, clean, and perfect for a relaxing holiday. Some very minor things that I wanted to point out though. 1. There seems to be an increase in the number of people "reserving" sunbeds early in the morning, especially around the pool but this year even more down on the beach. Generally, there are enough beds but on a couple of days there were people walking around looking and asking if empty beds were free (this was at about 10-11am) at that time there were still "reserved beds" that nobody had come down and used -my wife and myself prefer the mornings so were were usually on the beach from 9 and would stay until 12-13:00. It was terrible the number of reserved but unused bads - this is something that you shouldn't expect from a 5star hotel. 2. The food is always good but this year they seemed to be leaving almost empty serving bowls out under the heat lamps and replacing them until they were totally empty (that's great thinking about food waste etc.) but once I took some of that last remaining noodles and they were dried out and hard. The same for some of the kinds of rice and even some fish dishes. The last thing is we booked this holiday over 8 months before going and asked for a quiet room as far from the stage/entertainment area as possible as we don't always stay up late but were put in a twin room (not the end of the world) as close to the stage area as we have ever been meaning entertainment noise, people returning from the entertainment area or nights out noisily walking past our room (many inconsiderately shouting or banging etc.) We did ask if we could be moved but told it would be at least 2 days minimum, we only go for a week so packing up etc not worth the hassle. We did have a great holiday overall but these are niggles that have only started occurring this year.

Wonderful stay. Great food, drinks and service. One of the few resorts I would come back too. Staff was excellent. Need more shade and lounges on the beach. Thanks for a great stay.

Riu Place does not disappoint.
Riu Palace continues to maintain the level of service, quality of food and drinks. Rooms in hotel is a bit dated, comparing to other, newer Palaces. Pergolas, near the pool could also benefit from timely maintenance. This is why I gave 4 out of 5 stars. Everything else was as expected. Clean rooms, restaurants and gardens. Amazing beech with plenty of chairs. Specialty restaurants continue to serve the same selection of my favorites. Top shelf of local alcohol selection of and decent selection of other spirits. If you want a specific spirit in your cocktail, just ask and they will replace the generic one it in your favorite cocktail. As Gold Club member, se were upgraded to Ocean View.
