Beautiful but needs updating - closing end of May for major renovation

The resort is beautiful and the staff is very friendly. Unfortunately, the grounds are not very accessible for individuals with mobility issues. Restrooms near the beach require descending and ascending stairs with limited hand rails. We are Circle members so we had a concierge to handle dinner, Bali bed, and other reservations. There are only about 3 Concirge for all members, so they are not always available. As Members we are not interested in upgrading our benefits. Our Concierge kept pressuring us to attend one to find out new benefits. We finally conceded with the promise of a free massage. Presentation was only 40 minutes, but to get the new benefits, we would need to shell out $26k. No thanks. Once we attended, our Concirge became almost invisible. Hopefully, after the renovation they will be hiring more staff. Current staff have no idea what will happen to them when the resort shuts down at the end of May

    Cielio’s

Ate at Cielio’s today. Food was great. Had the yogurt with berries and oats, fresh fruit, and the ham and cheese omelette. Also the coffee and green juice. Jorge was exceptional. Phenomenal service by Carlos and Jorge. Everything was 5 star. Loved the food.

A team member who won't be forgotten!

Although I've rated the resort a 4 out of 5 for reasons like room cleanliness and difficulty of getting restaurant reservations, I do want to mention one incredible team member, Mariana at the breakfast buffet, who went absolutely above and beyond to make our family feel special. We were celebrating a 65th birthday and she took the time to create us custom decorated coffees, a handwritten sign, a birthday cake, and all of this was just during breakfast! She was truly special and deserves a lot of praise. Thank you Mariana!

Wonderful stay would love to go back

We had an amazing stay at paradisus cancun!! Veronica, manager relations of Meliá, made our stay special and memorable. She fixed any issues she had, was sympathetic, personable and extremely kind! We had the best time doing a couples massage and hydrotherapy at the spa. Boris is the manager at Lemon fish and he also made our experience one of a kind with the service he gave us. He was just like a friend to us, always helped us out with reservations and introduced us to the head chef who is incredible there. The decor of this restaurant is stunning and so too is the food. We had the most phenomenal dessert there made specially that evening and we really have to thank Boris for his fantastic personality, we really hope to meet him again!! Fanny at the Flora restaurant is extremely kind and warm, she also helped us out with reservations here at this healthy restaurant. We loved the food and decor at flora - the tomato soup and salmon were excellent and the environment is truly enchanting. The Nespresso bar was another favourite of ours, we visited this as many times a day as we could because the coffee is incredible here and the service is extremely fast and nice. There is a reason the queue is always so long for the Nespresso bar (since it’s so delicious including all the fresh desserts they have - we are not even dessert people but we could not resist), and yet you’re never left waiting very long at all! The pools are so much fun here and if you can get a Bali bed (we had one with a view of the beach), you will have the most relaxing and comfortable day. Even sitting on the beach chairs was wonderful - no seaweed in the water but the sea was rough! You have to go early in the day to get seats. The aquamarina restaurant is by the pool and it has the best shrimp tacos, nice dinner options too. The pizza bar and ice cream bar are also wonderful as pool-side snacks. We also loved the pool-side bar for fresh lemonade and mojitos! We had one bad waiter at the blue agave restaurant near Malva as he was quite rude but then all the other waiters and chefs were wonderful at breakfast and dinner. Malva is the buffet restaurant and the food is sub-standard (breakfast, lunch dinner) but it is reliable. I would recommend you to try the restaurants when you can because the food is almost always better. We also had a bad experience with one waiter at Capella as we were sat at our table late (we had to wait a while) and then nobody came to take our order or serve us water for half an hour afterwards. The food was pretty good but it did take a while to come. Overall, this resort is lively and beautiful. Highly recommend this resort for the most memorable, magical stay!!!

    Lack Luster Resort

I had high hopes for our trip, but unfortunately, it fell far short of expectations. The biggest disappointment? The food. Buffets were repetitive, bland, and often lukewarm. The à la carte restaurants weren’t much better—long wait times for mediocre dishes that lacked any real flavor. But the worst part was the bakery. Stale pastries, dry cakes, and artificial-tasting desserts made it clear that little effort was put into quality. As for the hotel itself, it’s in desperate need of an update. The rooms felt worn out, with dated decor, musty smells, and furniture that had clearly seen better days. The only reason this isn’t a 1-star review is that the beach was beautiful, and the staff were friendly. But for the price, I expected way more. I wouldn’t stay here again.
