Paradisus vacation
Staff is extremely accommodating. Special shout-out to Johnathan at the Celsius swim up bar. He is genuinely sweet and happy to not only help serve but interact with the guests to make sure they feel safe and have fun. He, as well of the rest of the staff, are always checking in to make sure you are having a nice experience. When you leave your room, you can leave for what feels like 5-10 minutes and return to a room with a bed made, snacks and refreshments restocked, with everything organized. This resort employee very enthusiastic, hard workers

Beware of Upgrading to the Reserve with Concierge Service
This was our first trip to the Dominican Republic and our first (and last) stay at a Melia Resort. First off, the property and beach were beautiful, however that beauty was overshadowed by issue after issue. Good experiences...Gustavo in Sante is wonderful. Wanda at the Fahrenheit pool bar is fabulous! The 80-minute couples massage that we paid for was excellent. Out therapists Alba and Maria gave us great deep tissue massages. Issues that occurred during our stay: • We had no concierge on Day 1 and part of Day 2. We were told upon check-in that Adriel would be our concierge, and that our luggage would be delivered within the hour. I had to call the front desk after 2 hours to have them find our luggage. This caused us to miss dinner on Day 1 . The room service food was terrible. How do you mess up a cheeseburger? Melia can do it! Adriel finally contacted us at 9:30pm via WhatsApp on Day 1. We found out he had left at 5:00pm, so there was no way we would have gotten our luggage without me calling and complaining. • On Day 1, The shower was not draining. I messaged Adrial and also called the front desk. This issue was fixed on Day 4. The water flowed out of the shower into our room and into the water closet. We had to make a dam out of towels when we used the shower. • Called the front desk and messaged Adrial about air conditioning on Day 1 not cooling enough. This issue was fixed late on Day 2. • Our Minibar was not stocked upon arrival. • Had to visit the Reserve lounge on Day 2 to ask for an on-site concierge, because our concierge, Adrial, was not going to be onsite again on Day 2. We got Alam, our 2nd concierge, that gave us a tour that we should have received on Day 1. He said he would make our dinner reservations. My wife had to send Alam a WhatsApp message to remind him about dinner reservations EVERYDAY or else we would have not gotten dinner reservations. We requested dinner reservations be between 6pm-8pm. Only 1 dinner was scheduled between 6pm-8pm. The rest was after 8pm. • We received one message about activities the entire stay from our concierges. This was on Day 1 and we did not receive any more. We were supposed to receive a message every morning about the day's activities. • On Day 5, Alum told us he was off for the rest of our stay. We were then assigned to Gustavo our 3rd concierge. I didn't think things could have been worse well Gustavo proved that they could. • On Day 5 We were told by Gustavo to wait in our room because the manager was coming by to talk to us. We waited over 2 hours and had to get to our 8:30pm dinner reservation. The manager never showed up. • On Day 5 the room was not serviced. Green ('Make up room') light was on since breakfast. Had to complain to Gustavo after coming back from our 8:30pm (turned into 9pm) dinner. The room was finally serviced late. The Minibar was not serviced. • On Day 6 the concierge manager and the resort manager, Alvaro Fernandez, met with me and my wife on our room's patio. I told them everything. They both agreed that we did not receive the Reserve service that we had paid for and they agreed to talk to upper management about refunding us the Reserve rate minus the regular resort room rate (wo/ concierge service). We thought everything was going to be settled after that, but NO! • Day 7: We were checking out and I had not heard from Alvaro. I messaged him on WhatsApp (see attachment). Since we booked through Costco Travel they are basically not honoring the agreement from Day 6. Melia owns the resort, not Costco! After we returned, we contacted Costco Travel. They reached out to the resort and the resort is now saying that they are not honoring anything talked about with concierge manager and the resort manager, Alvaro Fernandez on Day 6. My suggestion…if you go to this resort do not upgrade to the concierge or reserve service. I wish we had had concierges like the other guests had. If you get Adriel, Alam, or (God forbid) Gustavo, you need to request someone else.

Great vacation
We stayed in The Reserve section and it was fabulous! Eriol was our concierge. He took care of every need. He really pampered us and made it a memorable experience. We had a junior suite. It was perfect size and always well stocked. Flora and Mascalzones were our favorite cuisine. Would highly recommend!

Relaxing experience at the beach
Our experience at the beach was great, thanks to Vanessa, who took care of us serving us drinks and anything we asked for. Vanessa checked in on us and was very attentive. Vanessa was a good server and we remembered her from our last trip here to DR.

Tropical paradise for adults only
Beautiful clean and updated property. We stayed in the reserve section. The reserve is for adults only. We had our own concierge, Adriel, who was fantastic! He took care of all our reservations and anything else we needed. The food was top qualify. I'm definitely planning to return.
