Live Aqua Disappointment
Live Aqua was definitely not worth the money paid. My husband and I are used to staying at Secrets resorts, so maybe we’re a little spoiled, but, if I am going to pay over 7k for a weeks vacation, I expect top notch amenities and cleanliness. This trip was to celebrate my 45th birthday. Upon arrival, we waited for 2 hours for our room, no worries. We enjoyed that time in the Aqua Club lounge. When our room was ready, instead of our butlers taking us to our rooms, a bellman pointed to Bldg 2 and told us that’s where our room was and we could go find it. Upon entering our room (2111) there was an atrocious mold and mildew odor that instantly made me nauseous. My husband immediately contacted our butlers and they had someone bring over some Romance spray to cover the odor. That lasted for an hour and the smell was right back. We spent a week in this nasty smelling room. Each time we would mention the smell to our butlers, they always had someone deliver the Romance spray to our room to try and mask the smell. I noticed black mold around the base of the exterior wall of the shower on day 2 when I couldn’t figure out why the smell was still lingering. Outside of the issues with our room, this is an ok resort. If you prefer a smaller crowd, this may be for you. We are used to staying at Secrets resorts, so that’s all I have to compare this resort to which doing so is like comparing apples to oranges. These resorts are not on the same level. I wish I had stayed with our original destination in Mexico with Secrets Moxche. This was not my favorite vacation. I could never get past the smell of the room. We didn't spend much time in our room because of the odor and most mornings, my husband would find me sleeping outside on our patio just to have fresh air. As I mentioned before, this trip was for my 45th birthday. My brother called twice two and three days before we arrived to request a bottle of champagne and a cake be in our room upon our arrival. He was assured they would do so. That never happened. My husband brought this to our butlers attention upon our first day and he was assured that evening for our turn down service, they would have something special for us when we returned to our room. Nothing. We got nothing. Now, is this a big deal? Nope. Not at all. Unless you have been advised by multiple staff members that something will be done and then they don’t follow through. Will we return to Live Aqua, I doubt it. It just didn’t fit our vacation expectations.

A beautiful boutique resort with so much to offer!
This was my family's second visit to Live Aqua, and it was even better than the first last year. The resort is just the right size for us: Not too big, not too small. It's quite elegant, well-designed and beautifully maintained. All the facilities and rooms were very clean, and in great shape. The resort layout is excellent, with all the restaurants, pools and main areas within easy walking distance. The pools are among the best I've ever been to with plenty of lounge chairs and cabanas for relaxing. They're quiet, very clean, and almost never crowded. The beach area is also excellent; very clean and nicely laid out with a bar and restaurant nearby. Ample room to relax, with plenty of chairs. We enjoyed all the restaurants, especially Huzur, by the main pool. All our meals there were excellent. The gym is small, but has high quality, well-maintained equipment, and is seldom crowded. Probably the best aspect of Live Aqua is the staff. Everyone who works there is very friendly, helpful, and professional. They're genuinely eager to make you feel welcomed, and have the best time possible. We made sure to tip as a way of showing our appreciation. They definitely deserve it. There are lots of four and five-star resorts to choose from in Punta Cana. I highly recommend Live Aqua if you want a nearly perfect place to relax, enjoy the Caribbean weather, and feel pampered. It's a cut above other resorts that cater to crowds and party-goers. Live Aqua exudes class and comfort.

Awesome time at Live Aqua!
We (a couple in mid 50’s) visited LA for the first time for 10 days March 12-21 2025. We’ve experienced a lot of AI’s(primarily Mexico) over the years, but most recently in Punta Cana we’ve been to Secrets Cap Cana in 2024 and Breathless in 2023. We had a pool view swim out in building 5 (Aqua Club). The room and swim out were great but there were quite a few bugs at night and we got bitten so bring bug spray. While we were located near the construction of the new family resort, we didn’t actually face it so noise was minimal with the exception of one day where the jack hammering could be heard both inside and outside the room until 8pm. Our butlers were Alexander/Yrani and they were wonderful! Alexander was incredibly quick to respond to any questions/requests. We spent the majority of our time at the Club Aqua section of the beach - which is amazing. The ocean entry is sandy, no coral/rocks so has the better beach/ocean entry over both Breathless and Secrets Cap Cana. Do arrive early if you want the first or second row of beach palapas/loungers because the towel game is strong there. Typically both those rows were gone before 8am but you could get a lounger further back. Quite a few people were up enjoying the sunrise and on the loungers by 6:30am. The beach crew were really friendly and eager to assist - Angelo, Josue, Raquel, Pedro. While not as frequent beach drink service as Secrets Cap Cana, they really made an effort. A huge shoutout in particular to Angelo and Josue for going above and beyond - nothing was too much trouble. We loved the size and compactness of the resort - it is very accessible and easy to navigate, and thoughtfully designed. The LA staff are really friendly, and work hard. The main pool is fun - it has music and activities and you could also get a shaded pool spot at any time. The quiet pools are also a great choice for just chilling, and were never busy. Our favourite restaurants were Hibachi (Seishan), and Italian (Sospiro). Mexican was our least favourite. We aren’t seafood lovers so never tried the Miraflores which has a great location right on the beach, but there are lots of choices overall. While I’m not a great buffet fan, the buffet restaurant was actually really great for breakfast and lunch (service could be slow on occasion for drinks). Lots of fresh options. It would be nice to have buffet available for dinner some nights (they do have a limited grill for dinner outside the buffet restaurant). Also would be an idea to offer an a la carte breakfast for Club members in the morning at Miraflores location. The overall resort vibe was really positive - a great range of people in their twenties all the way to their eighties which we loved seeing, and we met some really great people. For us, it was a nice balance of relaxation and entertainment. Foam party, neon beach party, silent disco were the big events. Every night, they typically have a pre show (live music or DJ), then the main show, then again some entertainment until the disco starts at 11am. Sometimes the disco was fun; sometimes empty. We don’t usually go back to the same resort twice, but we may return to Live Aqua! Our only concern for next year is how the new family resort will affect it but we’ll wait and see.
