    Best Beach Waiter Ever

We had an amazing day at the beach and Erik took such good care of us! He was very engaging, humorous, and helpful! He kept the cold beers coming and assisted us with our loungers. Nothing was too much of an ask! Ask for Erik when you’re at the beach next time. We will from now on!

    Not Recommended For Groups

I have never had a hotel turn down a group reservation before. We had 9 rooms and had contacted the hotel in late October about our reservation. We were turned down due to the 10 room requirement for group rooms. (Group rooms should come with a discount to venues, room upgrades, and comped rooms). We decided to book directly through the hotel and other third party websites. I figured that they would make a note on the reservation or reach out to us, but that was not the case. I had called and emailed serval times only to not get a response. I was more disappointed when we arrived at the hotel to have only one front desk agent checking in our group. The front desk agent did not go over the room package or anything that was included with the room. For example, our room had a $200 room coupon, but no one explained to us that they were physical coupons and not something that was discounted during time of purchase. We were informed at check out that we had to have spoken to a separate person at arrival. The agent also mentioned that there was nothing he could do and we would need to contact the resort later. For a "luxury" resort, the hotel lacks attentiveness. I informed the front desk on our first day, that the name on our room was incorrect and we continued to see it on our TV. I had called and emailed the hotel again a week leading up to our stay to ensure that our group would be able to get a table for dinner only to not get a response. I was able to call when we landed in Mexico, but the concierge mentioned that they will not take our reservation. It was more upsetting when we got to the hotel to talk to concierge again, that the only way our group was going to get a table together was to purchase multiple bottles of wine. Mixed drinks at the bars are all watered down. The bartenders also only pour well unless you ask for it. We also did not appreciate the several attempts to be upsold with bottles that should have been included when our reservation says "Top Shelf" bottles included. Very misleading. My biggest concern with food at this hotel is that all the food lacks a depth of flavor which is disappointing. We had to ask for salt on multiple occasions, and it was interesting to learn that there was not enough salt shakers since the waiters would come back to ask for the for other tables.

A beautiful location with the best staff!

This beautiful resort was one of the best I've ever been to. Everything about it was comforting and accessible. The pools are heated, while the hot tub will keep even the arctic hot. The best part of the resort, however, is definitely the staff! Waiters Erik and Alan were exceptional and would highly recommend seeking them out if you are able. Juan does a wonderful job coordinating all events and makes all guests feel at home. I would recommend this property to everyone and will certainly be back for more.

Great resort! One of the best I’ve been too and the food is amazing! Jaime with the Activities team and Gabriel by the pool were great! We loved the clean resort and friendly staff. There was never a time we had to wait for a seat to eat or trouble finding a spot at the pool.

Small hotel within a large condo complex.

We were drawn to this property for its location between San Jose and Cabo San Lucas, and its luxury small hotel/ boutique ambiance. We stayed here for 2 weeks on an all-inclusive plan. The location is great. A quiet long beach with safer swimming areas just a short walk away. We saw whales with their calves just off shore every day. The building (s) and common areas are well maintained. The room was well appointed with beautiful ocean views. The swimming pools were nicely heated. Evening entertainment was typically solo musicians, It has a quiet, intimate feel that we enjoyed. With only two restaurants, they change the menu every few days. We tried the main restaurant for breakfasts and dinners a few times, and overall it was chaotic. We had orders mixed up, slow service and it appears food presentation was more important than taste or timeliness Don't know if this was due to lack of staffing or poor coordination etc.. but we stopped going to this restaurant. We ended up only having meals at Saltwater. The breakfast crew was particularly well organized and provided good service. In the evenings, the manager was only interested in selling wine, and then absorbed by his phone. Most staff at the resort work hard, but with such a small resort and few staff - you quickly spot the ones that don't want to be there, and the ones that work hard to ensure you have a good experience . We won't mention the poor performers by name, but Erik who works at the beach, and is always looking out for all guests is truly a gem and should be promoted or lauded for his gracious attitude. As mentioned by others, Hyatt brings all couples to this property for breakfast and the timeshare" sell". After the " free breakfast" they are then taken back to the main building across from the gym to close the deal. Condo owners are also able to use the pool and restaurants ( as long as they buy drinks/ food). On some days, this changed the hotel 's quiet vibe. Overall we enjoyed our stay, but question the value proposition of this " boutique" resort. If you can get a great deal, and want a quiet, small property.. its definitely one to consider.
