Dec 25, 2024When the staff makes a difference! 💕🇵🇷🎄
Christmas day at Rio Mar with the family was priceless. When the staff makes the difference. Tatiana at the pool check in, Rebert y Alexander at the beach and Lisa providing us with drinks at food, it was great experience for our family. Christmas day at the beach, Rio Mar made it unforgettable!!!

excellent resort
Excellent service in the pool area at 5 o'clock provided by Xavier, Ivan and Carlos Pepin. At breakfast, Guillermo provided excellent service and the good Puerto Rican food from Iguanas Restaurant by Chef Catala could not be missed. We had a wonderful time at the magic show by Reynolds Alexander, which gives my stay a plus.

Dec 24, 2024Family stay during Christmas time
We came with kids aged 11-13 year old and had a very nice stay at this hotel during Christmas time. HOTEL: Nice lobby, spacious, very clean, super friendly staff. It has a casino in the lobby (we did not go but looks bright and not loud). Undergoing renovations at this time so little bit of noise in the AM (but not too crazy) and one of the pools was closed. This was not clearly ROOMS: Spacious, no carpet (loved it!), and very clean. RESTAURANTS: “Marbella” breakfast buffet: Very good. Quality/variety of food was very good. Very nice staff. Dinner at “Roots”: very good quality (excellent pizza and burger). Dinner at “Palio”: New Sicilian restaurant was excellent quality but pricey (had truffle pasta for $29 and the size was slightly bigger than an appetizer). It did not appear to be an adequate size for an entree. “5’o’clock somewhere bar” was ok; needs more variety. KIDS ENTERTAINMENT: Amazing! Wide variety of arts and crafts plus gingerbread house decoration competitions. Super fun! They offer movie nights and there is a gaming station. Very friendly staff including Jennifer, Shelly, Bianca and Gabriela. They were super patient and extremely kid-friendly! FAMILY ENTERTAINMENT: great outdoor options such as as billiards, ping pong, volleyball court and basketball hoop. It would be great to have “Bingo at the pool” or other family games (aqua dance, etc) with participation of multiple guests. BEACH: beautiful but couldn’t enjoy much of the sea as there was red flag. Overall, a beautiful stay with our family during Christmas. Gave 4 stars due to undergoing renovations and room for improvement! 😉

Lap of Luxury
We enjoyed the comfort of being guests at the hotel. Beautiful grounds, lots was offered, wasn't expecting the small things (a small selection of local coffee grinds to brew) that made our stay great. We hired a driver who met us at the airport. She drove us around for the week. Our Snorkeling was cancelled last minute and she took us touring in San Juan instead, got us to the ferry docks by 3.30 am. Stopped by off at local vegetable stands, the mall, local favourite eating spots all the while explaining and sharing her culture.

Amazing Resort!
My husband, 7-year-old son and I had an incredible time and will undoubtedly be coming back to the Wyndham Rio Mar! From the Kids Explorer’s Club with Bianca to the drinks, food, music and unparalleled hospitality across the entire property, the beautiful Puerto Rican culture was abundant in every interaction. We love Puerto Rico and can’t wait to come back!
