Excellent Vacation Place for History Buffs and Families with children

Vacation Village at Williamsburg have comfortable units, roomy enough for families. Close to Jamestown, Yorktown and Colonial Williamsburg and a day trip to Washington DC is possible. This is a fantastic place for History Buffs and families with children that are about to study the Colonial period in school. They have Characters hosting discussions in the evenings. These Characters are mesmerizing; especially James Cameron who portrays John Rollison. They stay in Character during the entire evening and are excellent at portraying life during the Colonial period. I will definitely go back.

You're Assuming Risk by Going Here

Avoid at all Costs. I booked 4 rooms for a weekend in October. There is a gigantic legal warning on the wall behind the front desk that warns you that you are assuming all I risks associated with staying at their property. I wish I had seen that red flag before booking the room. The rooms are dated and "so so." I pity anyone actually owns a timeshare there. It is the definition of bare minimum, but - for the price of a weekend stay - it was acceptable. The problem is that I booked the stay through a third-party site. I elected to "pay at the property" and not through the third-party site. I always do that, because I book in advance and don't want to carry that charge on my account for months. Vacation Village charged me for the rooms when I arrived. Their charge appeared on my credit card statement. But, Vacation Village refuses to give me a receipt, so that I can be reimbursed for the charge. They insist that I paid the third-party site, even though the third-party site contacted them and told them that I did not. They also cannot explain the charges to Vacation Village on my credit card statement. Because they are withholding my receipt, they are withholding over $1200 from me. And their customer "service" employees have been ineffective and compassionless Take heed of their warning. They mean it. Do not book here.

    Williamsburg Gel Away

Vacation Villages is a perfect place if you are travelling with a pet. Units are spacious with lots are walking areas. Close to shopping, restaurants and many historic sites. Only negative would be that the units are very dated.

    Nice location and units.

Nice location and units. Missing out on the level of cleanliness and lack of kitchen necessities, and DVD players not working. Also quite surprised on our last day when cleaning staff just walked in a half hour before check out time.
