False Advertising, major disappointment!
Westgate was a major disappointment! I reserved A Coastal View Villa Suite (see attached pic). The reservation pic and description highlighted a suite with a balcony overseeing the oceanfront/coastal view. I was so excited to celebrate my anniversary here! When I checked in with a moody desk clerk on our first night, I discovered my "coastal view" was 95% view of the hotel's parking garage (see pic). I complained to the staff the very next morning. "This was false advertising!" Nothing was done to change the accommodation. I asked to see a manger, but she was too busy to respond to my plea for the following 2 days. Ultimately, the staff's justification was that I could see some of the coast from a very small angles of the suite's balcony, therefore that justified the advertising, price and accommodation. I was infuriated! I left my number to speak to the manger who refused to respond to my cries for assistance on the matter. I spent 3 nights fuming over the unprofessional customer service and indifference towards the matter. Beware the Westgate advertising! Call for clarification on what they consider coastal/oceanfront view based on the room you are assigned. I could have paid less for better accommodations at other hotels along the Myrtle Beach Oceanfront. Major regret!!!

Worst place to stay
I am an owner of Westgate Vacation Villas. I used my week here and that was a big mistake. They have 2 buildings an owners building and an off the street customer. They refused to put me in the owners building because I didn't own it there. the room was smaller and didn't even have a full kitchen it was so small there was no table to sit at. We ate at the coffee table. That's not the worst. When it rained the water ran on the floor in the 2nd bedroom and the living room. It was dripping from the ceiling on the coffee table as well. The master bedroom leaked all over the bed and the mattress was soaked. I had to call 5 times to the main number to get a new mattress. The phone in the room just rings and no one answers any of the extensions. It was a horrible stay. When the maintenance guy came up to look at it he said usually when it does this I just suck the water out of the ceiling. So you know they are full of mold this was the normal for them.

Poor Customer Service at it’s Best !!!
I booked this trip for a birthday get away for my wife ………. Westgate Myrtle Beach is a complete/total disappointment for us …….,, reserved 4 nights/5 days and arrived on 10/10/24. Checked into room late and found that we were not placed in our purchased 1 bedroom, in fact we were placed in a studio 1 bedroom, queen bed ( it was more like a full size bed), a/c not working, toilet running all night, room temp on the access of 75 degrees and it would not go any lower and the people in the adjoining room were banging on the wall (head of our bed) most of the night. This morning we meet with the concierge and made the resort aware of our concerns and asked to be relocated to our owner’s accommodations and were told they couldn’t do anything about our concerns and basically we were told to suck it up. She made it a point to let us know that she was also the hotel owner’s personal concierge. I know if I were the owner and had these conditions reported I would go out of my way to do all that I could to make a timeshare owner more comfortable and let them know I value their commitment to my property. However, that was not the case and as a result of this conversation, we checked out of our timeshare and relocated to another resort. Prior to checking out of the resort, I asked if there was a room in the hotel section of the resort for my wife and I to be relocated ( I also offered to pay any additional charges and was told the resort was over booked. and no rooms were available, however on Hotels.com and Westgate's web pages rooms were available for our remaining dates) Westgate, your staff sucks at customer service and you do not stand behind your claims of customer/owner satisfaction or your appearance of an upscale and honest resort. Needless to say, we will be offering our timeshare for sale in the very near future obviously at a bargain rate. We will not mislead or give false promises of what we are selling. Westgate, you should be embarrassed and ashamed of this resort. Yes, I will be reaching out to the Cooperate Office and passing this concern on to the Senior Leadership.

Won’t be back.
The hotel was fairly clean other than some mold in the shower. We notified the front desk and the Westgate app that there were several issues with the room, but nothing was ever done to correct them. The door to the balcony was broken. The door to the bathroom wouldn’t close and all the movie channels were unwatchable.

Ruined an otherwise pleasant experience.
ROACHES!!!! Lazy pool has roaches in the potted flower areas. Can’t enjoy the balcony for I’ve had to kill several roaches. I have video and the dead to prove it! I saw kids running from the children’s pool due to a roach IN THE POOL. Even though the staff and hotel itself is nice the roaches overshadowed that experience. The establishment knows it’s a problem for one morning we’ve seen exterminators spraying the troubled areas. FREAKING DISGUSTING!!!
