Engaging....
This review is for a visit, rather than a stay. While experiencing the water transport from Epcot to Hollywood Studios; we stopped here to explore the facility's interesting architecture, well-kept grounds, themed landscaping and seasonal decorations. The complex is well-maintained and nicely conceived. The resort's location, convenient to the Boardwalk and two Parks; makes for an engaging interlude, in one's traversing this section of the Disney bubble.

Another good experience at the Dolphin
We thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Disney World and our stay at the Dolphin Resort. The location of this resort couldn't be better. It is walking distance to The Boardwalk (restaurants and entertainment), EPCOT, and Hollywood Studios. If walking is a challenge, boat service is provided right outside that takes you to both of those parks. For other parks, bus service is provided. The only caveat here is that the bus service is slightly different than other Disney resort properties. While it has most of the same amenities, the drop off and pick up locations may vary slightly from the locations of the other resorts. That said, if you are planning to rope drop Magic Kingdom, it is important to know that once you arrive, you still need to take the ferry or the Monorail to get to the park entrance. Transportations from other resorts drop you off closer to the main entrance and the additional step is not needed. Not a huge deal, but plan accordingly. We cheated and walked next door to the Yacht Club resort and took their bus to the Magic Kingdom and it worked well, just a little extra walking. The hotel itself is plenty nice, easy to get around, and has the typical amenities you'd expect. As a lifetime platinum Marriott member, you don't really get any extra perks, but you're there to enjoy Disney, not the hotel, right?

Perfect stay during a great holiday. Soured by the ridiculous Resort fee...
stayed while on a family holiday at Christmas time. Arrived & parking was slightly complicated but we worked it out in the end. Checked in a reasonable time & quickly up to our rooms. They also made the extra effort to make our rooms close together! The room we had (5057) was well kept & clean. Also included 4 bottles of water which were replaced everyday, great service. Transport is also easy to access for Hollywood studios & epcot or they are just a short walk away! Pool facilities are also superb but they did close the slide earlier then advertised every time we was down. Only two small things is to watch the floors, they seem very uneven & caused our party to trip a few times. Also the resort fee is a joke, paying for stuff you will never use! Overall, a perfect stay.

Not worth the cost
For this stay we were originally booked at the Swan and last minute decided to switch to the Dolphin as the price for the same amount of nights, similar rooms was about $2000 less. We had previously stayed at the Swan (6 years ago) and absolutely loved it and had at the time visited the Dolphin and thought it was nice. Although the hotel looks nice the rooms are average at best, service is just okay - they were very lacking in staff during such a busy season with only 2 people at any given time servicing the front desk. Housekeeping is virtually nonexistent which for the price we paid I had hoped would be a priority. For a Bonvoy property this does NOT hold up to what they normally offer their loyalty members. This was a very disappointing stay. Back to housekeeping - We requested that our rooms be cleaned daily (we had two rooms). Some days they were cleaned to the bare minimum - bed made only. Other days they weren’t touched when we got back to the room around 5pm. When they did service the rooms they were never vacuumed, there were hairs in the bathrooms that never moved over our 9 night stay (that were there from previous guests), multiple days towels were not replaced with fresh ones but just refolded, soap dispensers were never refilled and we actually ran out of soap by the end of our stay, coffee cups weren’t refilled and we had to ask for more. Overall this was extremely disappointing as even at budget hotels we’ve had better service.

Great resort but check room size will meet your needs
We had a fantastic stay at the WDW Dolphin. The resort is gorgeous, impeccably maintained with several pools, a lake with swan boats & many restaurants. You essentially have access to all of the facilities in both the Swan & Dolphin. Service was also very good. The location is fantastic with Epcot & Hollywood Studios accessible by boat (& walkable if you wish) plus the Boardwalk Resort & Yacht & Beach Club also in walking distance. Our standard room with resort view was clean but the design was poor - the bath/shower room with toilet was tiny - very tight to get in and out. Outside was a single small sink with very little space. Really impractical for 4 of us sharing. Beds also seemed very small - two queens but definitely smaller than usual (we went straight to another resort with the usual size queens). A shame given how good the resort is. I’d stay here again but look at other room options/connecting rooms. Other downside is parking charge per day plus resort fee per day (annoying if you are in the parks & not using them for most of the time). Restaurants all good - we enjoyed the Italian trattoria at the Swan & used Fuel quite a bit for snacks. We didn’t go to the pool until the last day & discovered a quick serve breakfast tucked out of the way on the bottom floor. Seemed odd no-one mentioned it. Looked a bit tired & neglected but breakfast was good.
