    Celebrating Occasion

This hotel is a rebranded W hotel that needs an extensive update!!! check in was smooth but being charged 84$ for a night’s parking is ridiculous…the room was a King lake view and the room’s furniture was chipped, the window was FILTHY!! the elevator was SLOW and made strange noises..?? didn’t try the room service $28 hamburger but this place is DEFINITELY not worth the price we paid!!!!!

    $3,000 Stolen! AVOID THIS HOTEL!

I stayed at The Wade Hotel Chicago Lakeshore (formerly W Chicago Lakeshore) over New Year’s Eve 2025, and it turned into a financial nightmare. I was charged over $3,000 more than expected, and despite being told the charges were just “holds,” the money was never refunded. I’ve been bounced around between the hotel’s accounting department and my bank, with the hotel claiming they no longer have access to records since rebranding. Marriott Customer Care stepped in, but still no refund and no answers. I feel like my money has been stolen, and I’ve been left completely in the dark. If you value your wallet and sanity, stay far away from this hotel! You've been warned!

Great location - desperately needs a renovation

I've stayed in a number of W hotels over the years and this one is by far the biggest disappointment. The room design is definitely dated compared to others that I've stayed in and for all the space taken up with the unnecessarily large wrap around sofa in the room, there isn't a place to actually do work without sitting directly in front of the TV set. So for business users this place is a bust. Whereas comparable hotels in the price range are filled with tech, automatic blinds, remodeled bath and showers - this hotel is easily 10 years out of date with all of the manual light switches that you have to go around and turn off before getting ready for bed. So while this hotel isn't bad... it definitely isn't good. It's average on at best... especially for a W hotel. This one feel off-brand compared to say - W San Francisco.

    Love

I love this hotel. I have stayed there many times through the years. I live 90 miles north. I always meet nice people there from the Chicago area that come to stay for a weekend. Everything is clean. That is a sign of a well managed hotel.I always look forward to staying there. Too bad other Marriott Bonvoy properties are not managed as well.

    No Longer

I’ve been coming to this hotel since 2009. I was very disappointed to see there has been no updates to the property. And you can tell. They no longer offer coffee/tea in the room, and the bathrooms need updated. The parking garage the hotel uses is $84 a day! We found public parking garage literally around the corner for 1/2 the price. On a positive note, the fitness center is spacious with updated equipment. Needless to say, the stay was disappointing, and I will not be returning. There are many fantastic hotel options in Chicago for the same price.
