Nice property - I was told it's an institution. Decent value for your money's worth. Family friendly.
Overall the trip was great. HOWEVER - I made the reservation deposit on my credit card for me and my relatives. They arrived first and were told they had to pay the entire amount and I would be credited back the deposit. It has now been two weeks and I still haven't seen the credit, and I haven't been able to reach anyone at the property. I've tried calling front desk several times, their mailbox is always full. I've tried emailing the property with no response. I was transferred one time to sales/accounting and it was busy/full and then the connection cut off. Chasing this over $2000 down has left a rather sad last impression of the vacation. The concierge did try hard to upsell. We ended up doing one off property event. One disappointment - the Black Friday package we purchased came with a romantic dinner. Concierge told us it was on the beach. I booked it, and when we arrived, they had no idea what we were talking about, and seat us in a usual spot in the restaurant. And no one came to the table for 10 minutes. When I finally asked them again (because there was a $75 up charge), I needed to understand what the point of a regular evening at the restaurant included in the all-inclusive was. They passed me onto the manager, who then realized that they had set us up for a separate dinner, but the hostesstook us to the wrong place. He asked "Did you tell her you were here for the romantic dinner?" which we did. A few times. Along with the server. When they finally took us to our special dinner spot, it was not on the beach. It was in another part of the restaurant, which while yes, it was nice and set up well, it wasn't on the beach, as originally touted. Lastly, when the bill came, it was confusing, they tried to charge us for the full dinner instead of just the service charge which was the only part not included. All in all, that unfortunately left a sour end to the visit. This along with trying to get my money back now, tainted what otherwise was a good vacation.

Love the Palmar
The guys at the front of the hotel who help with your bags and call taxis are the absolute best! We love the Palmar for the food but mostly because of the people who work there. They’re the friendliest group of employees we’ve ever experienced at a resort in Cabo!

Wonderful family holiday
I was unsure about this property based on some of the negative reviews but after a week long stay, I will say we had nothing but wonderful things to say about this place! Our experience was 10/10. The facilities were impeccably clean and I saw staff wiping down surfaces and sweeping many times a day. The housekeeping staff did a wonderful job and the turn down service was a nice touch. The highlights of Villa del Palmar would certainly be the delicious food and amazing staff. We loved the buffets and ala carte restaurants. There were plenty of options to choose from and we never got sick of the food. The service in the restaurants and around the pool was amazing. Everyone was welcoming and friendly. I’d like to thank all the staff but a special mention to the ones I can remember: Carlos, Uzeil, Julio, Miseal and the wonderful Nayeli who took care of us all week by the pool. I’d also like to acknowledge the amazing entertainment staff. There were lots of fun activities by the pool and they had little crafts and games for our kids who were too young for the kids club. The shows at night were also amazing - many of them are professional dancers and it showed. Overall, we had a wonderful experience at this all inclusive resort and would highly recommend it to others. The only slight issue we had was with the air conditioning but it was cool enough in the evenings that it didn’t really matter. Thanks again for the excellent service.

Very pleasant place to stay in Cabo’s
Enjoyed our week at Villa del Palmar. It was always immaculately clean. Food and drinks were very good, especially the steak at Tomatillo. All the staff are very friendly and helpful. I was always able to get a lounge on the beach. Massage at neighboring resort was excellent. My only quibble was the waits for Bella restaurant, especially at breakfast. Wait to have your name taken, wait again for your name to be called, then wait at the serving stations for food. It would help to have another restaurant open in the morning.
