Great location
The location is great. The happy hour is a nice touch. My kids really appreciated the afternoon cookie. They gave us two waters in check in and those were appreciated as well. There is a great water refill station by the elevators. The employees we interacted with were courteous. We stayed just one evening. Our plans had changed and our condo was booked for this evening. We chose the suite to ensure we had enough room for our family of four. We were charged an extra person fee. I would have just selected two rooms in hindsight. Our living area where the kids slept was missing a remote.. We called upon check in, I told the front desk and messaged via app. Nothing was ever done. The hair dryer had some sort of short and couldn’t be used in the bathrooms with the GFI switch. This was reported and nothing was done about this either. There was one robe, but a second would have been great. There was a strange smell as well. There were scent machines in the unit. So, I don’t think it was just us noticing this. There were a few things like a stain of some sort on the floor. If we had not paid in excess of $1400/night I would feel differently. But, this was our second time giving the property a shot . We had the same experience with elevators many report. So, we took the stairs most of the time. It is a lovely location, but I do not feel the expense was justified.

Excellent location, but not a luxury hotel
Like other reviewers who wanted to give this hotel a 3.5 star rating - I'd agree. The reason I am rating it higher at a 4 and am less critical as others is because I booked my 6-night stay using points - if I'd paid the rate of $5/k for the week - I'd probably be more critical. TLDR: The hotel is fine - but you're paying for the location not a luxurious experience. I'll break down my review by categories: The good Hospitality: -Most of the employees were friendly and helpful. They are the ones who really deserve all the credit here. The location: -Can't beat it. Located right on the slopes and at the end of Snowmass Mall. The not-so-good: Communication: Inconsistent at times. -There is a happy hour daily from 4-5 p.m at the lobby bar. The hotel gives free house wine and one free app to certain Bonvoy Elite members (as we were told). On day two we found out it was only one of two of their apps on their menu that were free. (They ended up taking the app off the bill so that was nice.) Also, on day 5 we learned that tap beers were also included in this free happy hour deal. We were told it was one free drink/person. One day a guest received several free beers during happy hour. -At check-in I asked for a late checkout (Titanium Bonvoy Member). I was told that I'd have to check back the day before our departure date. The morning before our departure I requested a late checkout. The woman at the desk told me I'd have to ask the day of departure (really annoying as I'm a planner and would like to know ahead of time). So that afternoon I asked again. The person who'd checked me in was working the desk and it was a bit of a haggle but I negotiated for a slightly later check out time (1:00 p.m. vs. the standard 4:00 p.m. Titanium entitlement). Mechanical issues: -On day 2 of 6 one of the two elevators broke. That caused really long waits at times. -The HVAC system in our room was really loud. Like industrial-fans in a factory loud. 24/7. Quality for the price: -Small Dove soap bar in the bathroom. Not horrible but for an Autograph Collection hotel I expect more. -They left one bathrobe in the bathrobe. Asked for a second one. When cleaning they removed both bathrobes and only replaced one. -Breakfast - was free for certain Bonvoy members based on level. Before tip the buffet bfast is $40/person. It is not worth $40. If it's not free don't do it!

Premium location, superb services
I was concerned and with low expectations due to many bad reviews. However, what I found out was a great hotel, perfectly located for skiers and premium service. As far as skiers are concerned, this hotel is must stay once one desire to explore Snowmass.

Hotel with huge potential but not there yet …
We visited the resort for 4 nights and enjoyed our stay . We prefer to ski in Europe as it’s cheaper and better quality so it might affect my review. ( but for a shorts ski it’s not worth to travel that far) . So we were doubting between 3 and 4 stars ( 3.5 would be accurate ) but gave it 4 because the hotel has potential ( even to go up to 5) What was amazing : - location, location, location ( close to the slopes, the airport and Aspen) - the staff was very friendly and really did their best to accommodate everyone - the lobby bar - nice atmosphere and perfect for a drink or light meal What was ok : - the rooms , we booked a standard room so we didn’t expect much - it was exactly as pictured and it was cleaned everyday ( despite what other reviews say ) . We were just the 2 of us for a couple of days so fine. The lifts where indeed a nightmare, but we walked outside to go to the restaurant/ lobby as it was quicker What needs improvement: - the restaurant design : I felt it was old, messy and moody but not in a good way. It felt very nineties … with the low ceilings they should change the decor more similar to the lobby with light tones, natural woods etc … ( we never had dinner here because of the atmosphere ) - the breakfast : absolutely terrible ( except for the staff who were very friendly). If you pay 750$ / night for a basic room I expect a decent breakfast included . They charge 40$ pp ( so +100 for 2 incl tip) for the buffet and it’s very basic ( think courtyard) , it’s also messy , not replenished… and low quality. (We are used to the European breakfast experience 😉) . But even in the US at this price point I expect a nice buffet with a selection of cheeses, salmon , fresh breads , jams and preserves , … instead it’s a vert small selection of mediocre quality. - the spa / pool : ( again spoiled from our Europe experience ) . After skiing we prefer a sauna. They do not have this but they have a steam room . But if you want to use it you need to pay an additional 75 $ per person !!! And it already closes at 6 pm. I would expect that for a ski hotel there would be sauna / steam room included and that there is a relax room that you can use at the end of the day . There is a hotub , but no room to put your bathroom / relax … etc. The pool area is also outdated . The hotel definitely has the space for a sauna and an improved spa experience . ( We didn’t try the messages as also felt it was too expensive for the resort ) The weather was amazing which is why we spend a lot of the time outside on the slopes / apres bars. But in case of inclement weather there is little to do. So the biggest advice to management : invest in great inclusive spa / pool experience and improve your breakfast .

Great ski week
I never write reviews, but decided to write this one because I was surprised by how poorly people rated this hotel. I felt low reviews were unjustified. We had a great week here. I suspect low reviews stem from the high cost with which come high expectations. But one must take into account this entire mountain is extremely pricy: restaurants, lift tickets, shops. Not just hotels. I guess everyone has to make their annual income in a very short season, bringing supplies is very hard, and workers are seasonal as well. Not all in their control. Skiing in America’s good mountains can become very expensive. (As a disclosure: we were part of a conference and had a group discount, so may ave paid less than others). For skiing, the location of this hotel is unparalleled. You put you skis on right outside the hotel’s ski valet and ski down the end of a very easy green to two chairlifts (Coney Express, and Village express) that can take you to green, blue, or black trails from which you can ski to almost every lift. Can also ski down and take the elk camp gondola after a brief one minute walk. Hotel is a walking distance to many restaurants and to the lift ticket office and a brief walk to the shuttle to the other mountains and Aspen downtown. The self parking is about a five minute walk. Our room was always clean, although we had to ask for room cleaning. They do not enter your room unless you request it. The lobby bar is very nice and the Jacuzzi was nice at the end of the day. We had a premium queen room overlooking the mountain on the fourth floor to which we only had to take the elevator from the lobby. The rooms are not very large but had good cabinet space. Our fare did not include breakfast so we ate both at the hotel and in other places and found the hotel breakfast to be more pricy. The reason I gave 4 and not 5 (4.5 would have been a good option) stars is that service was slow at times, and one of two elevators were broken and they could not get the company to come to the mountain to fix quickly enough. Hence for a few days, during busy hours it was a wait to take the elevator. For us it was no huge deal, as we took the stairs up and down. It was a little more difficult with luggage and such. For prime prices one might expect more. We did not have unpleasant service like others here described. Everyone was helpful, kind and polite. Requests for more towels etc immediately addressed. We had a wonderful ski week and a very positive experience overall.
