Three generation vacation at Best AI in area.
Velas Vallarta Puerto Vallarta Sept 2- 9, 2024 Returned to Velas for a week with myself ( mom) , adult son, wife and grandson. We had a fantastic time as usual. Spoiled my kids with this resort as my son nor my grandson will go anywhere else. We enjoyed a lovely 3 bedroom unit. The most comfortable beds in Mexico I might add. Large living room, good sized kitchen with dining area and 2 full bathrooms. Water pressure, towels and amenities such as shampoo, soap, toothbrushes and toothpaste were plentiful and in unit. We had balconies off living room and Master bedroom. it was spacious and comfortable for the 5 of us. Everything is meticulously clean and daily maid service is great for new towels, clean floors etc. The check in process was easy and seamless, as was checkout. Bellmen were friendly and helpful. The pools are just incredible and we spent time at both the quiet pool and the party pool but not the kiddie pool. heheh. You get towel cards and can exchange your towel as many times as you like contrary to many other resorts. Wait service was great by the pool. They have a menu with a large variety of items. Their pizza is actually quite good for Mexico I might add. Room service is always good, quick, timely, efficient and hot. Both restaurants had great food and service. Along with lots of variety. The Mexican Fiesta is one of the best in PV and features an all female Mariachi group that are fabulous. We were utilizing the all inclusive so we had our refrigerator stocked daily with milk, waters, sodas, & beers. Our snack basket was replenished daily with oatmeal, cereals, chips, nuts, tea bags, napkins, doritos, chocomilk packets & microwave popcorn. The All Inclusive is just that, no limits, all inclusive, again unlike many other resorts. We also had free parking and free high speed wifi throughout the resort and in our room. The staff are amazing and truly are so friendly and helpful and just want to make your stay fun and pleasant and ours always is! There is a variety store onsite and a boutique. The beach is nice and has cabanas and loungers and even food and drink service. This is one resort you just cannot do wrong by choosing. The grounds alone are like a tropical jungle in the midst of the marina. Impeccable landscaping, roaming peacocks, iguanas and the like. Even Koi ponds and food you can purchase to feed them. I babysat at night while the adults went out, it was a fantastic vacation with 3 generations of us. We will repeat this again but with my husband as well next year. I am sure I have forgotten something but alas I am behind on my reviews and have since returned with other family members so watch for that review as well.

Velas Vallarta is a good place close to the marina, and the malacon and downtown area is not too far away.
Love Velas Vallarta! It has gotten a little expensive. Picturesque. Good service. Plenty of food choices. Has some entertainment. All-inclusive required. Golf course practically across the street (watch out for the alligators!). Close to the airport!

Overall a good experience
Pros: beautiful grounds, on the beach, main restaurant overlooks the beach so you can eat with a view, very close to the airport. Service is good. Very close to the airport, short walk to the marina. Nice balconies for every room. Beach is not crowded. Cons: rooms definitely have a moldy musty and dusty smell, probably not good for asthmatics as I found it difficult to breathe at night. It gets chilly at night too and no heating so hard to sleep with the windows open. Also major con was the presence of raccoons by the pool at night (personally witnessed on 2 nights). Staff seemed unphased like it’s a normal occurrence. Finally, and probably the worst thing, timeshare presentation on arrival. They will lie through their teeth telling you it’s not a timeshare presentation. It absolutely is. Don’t fall for it and lose half a day of vacation like we did.

Family fun
Great service all around! The whole staff were very kind knowledgeable and efficient. Amazing beautiful views and equally great food and drinks! Easy walk to stores near the marina. Convenient transportation around the town. The resort itself is well maintained and clean!

Great AI Resort for large family
Really impressed with this excellent resort. With a large family it is hard to find all inclusive accommodations and Velas fit the bill. Beautiful, well kept, mature grounds provided a lush atmosphere. Attentive and courteous staff all around, from the bellhops, to the front desk, to the restaurant and wait staff and the poolside service. All was top notch and our needs were well provided for. Food was delicious and variety was good. Appreciated the themed nights at the restaurants. Mexican Fiesta on Sunday was a big hit. We were fortunate to be there during New Years Eve and really enjoyed the party under the tent. The management and staff at Velas know how to do it right.
