Feb 12, 2025Came for a business trip and WOW 🤩
We could not give higher praise to Unico, its staff and the quality of food. We hope to be back one day soon! Our local host, Ismael, was there for anything we needed. Everything from choosing our pillows before our arrival from the time we pulled out of the resort, the staff was excellent. David who worked at the pool lunch spot was a joy! 6 out of 5 stars Unico!

Awesome resort. The food was good, room was clean and comfortable. Our concierge Eduardo Reyes was awesome. We have been to many resorts and he was the best we have ever had by far. Very attentive and efficient. Ask for him to be your concierge and you will be well taken care of.

Spring for the photos! They were worth it and Luis Franco was amazing!
We had such an amazing time at this property. Luis Franco took amazing photos of our group on the beach and Marco was a terrific butler. The rooms were comfortable, the food was great and we will be back! I would highly suggest photos…they were priceless!

This is not a 5 star resort by any means. I was surprised how poor of condition this place was in. Seeing it’s only 7 years old it’s sort of falling apart. The room smell of mold , the bed sheets were damp and the towels were never dry. You will notice the rust everywhere, the buildings are all in decay. The food however is great and the staff are amazing. We were sold on the fact it was high end cocktails which it definitely was not. We did do their time share presentation for the free massages which was also a huge mistake. The whole place is a giant scheme to make you buy into their masters program where you basically finance your future vacations. It makes no sense yo buy into it and they pressure you the whole time and continue to drop their price until you buy in. I was shocked how many people at the resort bought into this program as it’s definitely not worth the money for a tired resort which I would at best give a 4 star. Keep in mind the environment in the Mayan is almost tropical so the humidity is very high so it just destroys the buildings and if they are not taken care of and updated they fall apart. Overall it’s a decent place but definitely not a 5 or 4.5 star resort.

Great service!
Great rooms , spotless ! Great food with many selections . Everyone was so helpful , I was looking for ice and one of the room attendant ( not mine ) said hand me your ice bucket and wait here , she went and got it and was back in a minute. Now that’s service . I wish I had got her name !
