Birthday retreat
This was a getaway to celebrate my birthday. Jill, a server at breakfast in the Carolina Room, was great - she arranged for a bottle of champagne to be delivered to the room, which we thoroughly enjoyed - Thank you, Jill :) We had several meals in the Carolina Room. All of the servers from each meal were great. The room was clean. The hallways and common areas of the hotel were clean.

Fun Time
The service was absolutely great, every need or want was very well taken care of. My son was in a conference and my wife and I kept 2 grandchildren at the resort. The pool(s) were great, especially the heated pool and the extra large hot tub. Ocean front was fun and the restaurants were fantastic, All 5 of them, food was excellent and well priced. Our 4 and 5 year old grands were treated like King and Queen.

Go get an omelet from Juanita!
We were attendees at an event for Hilton Head Fire Rescue and although the event itself was great we did have issues with dinner service (an entire table didn’t get served dinner) and price gouging at the mobile bar. Staff was busy and pleasant most of our stay, but Juanita at the Carolina Room for breakfast service was a gem and made our morning!

Best Breakfast!!
Juanita made an amazing omelette! I did not want my breakfast experience to end. I am definitely going again tomorrow morning! SO Good! A must go! I was thinking about that omelette all day! It was that good. All the fruit was fresh and of good quality.

Wes saved our vacation!
My wife and I come to the Westin every February for a marriage conference and usually stay a few extra nights. When we arrived we discovered that our room had a view of the dog park rather than the ocean (my fault for not verifying when we booked). We requested to switch rooms when we arrived, but were told they were at full capacity. We were really disappointed, and received no empathy from the manager. The next morning, just for the heck of it, I asked again if there were any ocean side rooms available. The front desk told that we could be moved to an ocean side room later that day as rooms became available. We were very excited and went back to our room to begin packing to move rooms later. Shortly after lunch we received a call from the manager asking about our timeline for when we planned on checking out. I mentioned the move to the ocean side room that would be happening that day, and she said that we couldn't do that. I explained that the front desk told us we could, and we had already packed up and were just waiting to be notified that the room was ready. She stated flatly that the hotel was booked up and that we couldn't be moved to a new room until the following day. I pushed back and asked why the front desk told us we could move, and now we're being told we can't. The manager just flatly stated again that there were no rooms available, and we would have to wait the next day to move. We were upset and disappointed to say the least. We just wanted to cancel our reservation and move hotels (we were planning on staying three more nights). And it made us never want to come back. Later, we went to the front desk and thankfully, Wes was working and listened to our complaint. We told him that we were thinking of moving to another hotel, and how our experience left a very bad taste in our mouths, after coming to the Westin for years. We finally received some empathy and excellent customer service from Wes. He understood our frustration, and offered empathy and a nice ocean view room the following day. We still had to wait a day, but just having someone hear our complaint, offer some empathy, that made a world of difference. The Westin is very lucky to have an excellent employee like Wes, and we're very grateful to him!
