Dated hotel with service challenges
The Lindy is well located but a very dated property with service issues. Our room was small and in need of renovation and one (of the two) elevators were out of service for our entire 5 night stay. While some staff members were excellent, especially those at the front desk, others were not. For example, some valets would open the doors for guests while others would watch guests walk in on their own even though there were no cars available. We were there during the Cooper Bridge 10K which closed down the streets and the parking garage around the hotel on Saturday when we needed to get to the airport. When we asked where to park, several staff members just replied "I don't even know how I'll get to work." Finally, we found one staff member who did help us. To me this is a management issue, they did not train the staff on how to anticipate guests questions and something as simple as providing locations of alternate parking garages would have been a valuable tool for staff and guests alike. While we're platinum elite members, we would not revisit the Lindy.

Fabulous hotel in city center, fun rooftop pool!
The bellmen at the Lindy Renaissance were so incredibly thoughtful and easy to work with. Richard in particular went out of his way to make our family feel welcome, we arrived well before check-in time with our family of 5 and he happily took our massive pile of luggage. When the kids decided that they wanted to swim prior to our room being ready he politely and patiently got us to our luggage to retrieve the bathing suits. Best of all my Richard found my husband’s iPhone/wallet in the lobby and quickly tracked him down to return it. Nice hotel and great overall experience.

Lindy Renaissance Charleston
Nice hotel in very good location. Unfortunately only 1 elevator working. Richard that greets everyone and helps with luggage couldn't have been nicer throughout our whole stay. He's an amazing ambassador for the hotel and Marriott brand!

Helpful Richard
Richard is the best bellman! The valet went to get my car and it wouldn’t start. Richard got permission to leave his role, got his car and cables, and spent time trying to jumpstart it and figure it out. He went above and beyond. He was a great example of the Renaissance excellent customer service.

Great Hotel
We really enjoyed our stay. The hotel is modern and clean. The beds are very comfortable. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful with restaurant ideas. It is centrally located and we were able to walk throughout the city without taking any Ubers. They are off the Main Street which is full of great shopping and restaurants. The only downside was that only one elevator was working. I highly recommend.
