Hacienda is the way to go.
Had a wonderfully relaxing stay again at the Hacienda side of the Krystal Grand. Second time here. Breakfast with Emma every day. Always a smile, and help with my Spanish lesson. Marissa in the lunch area made it welcoming, and I miss Charlie offering me something from the bar. Its close (15 min) to the airport so you don't waste time in a taxi, and can get your vaycay on quickly. I think we will be back.

Mediocre at best
I could write a whole essay but here are the big issues. One is the mosquitos are terrible at the hacienda side you couldn’t be out of the water without getting attacked The rooms were covered in mold You pay for a swim up pool completely shaded so it’s freezing because they don’t heat it so it’s honestly a massive waste of money The food was awful the only decent food was the lunch pavilion The breakfast was ok except the pancakes and French toast would be raw in the middle Most of our dinners were served extremely cold food just terrible lack of effort on the food side. The only thing saving this resort is the bartenders and servers

Definitely NOT a 4 Star Property
I recently stayed at the Hacienda over the week of Thanksgiving. I was disappointed with the service, the atmosphere, and the cleanliness of the rooms. I arrived around 5 PM, and upon arrival, I waited about 45 minutes to check in. Once I finally checked in, I was informed that my room still was not ready and was asked to wait in the lobby, where I ended up sitting for an hour. No one offered me any type of food or beverage — they simply let me sit there. The receptionist said the best she could do was offer me a noon check-out for my departure a week later, which was not helpful due to the timing of my flight. When my room was finally ready, the receptionist did not have anyone show me to it; she just pointed in the general direction and mentioned that my luggage would be brought to me. However, as time went on, my luggage never arrived. Since their phone lines were down due to a storm months ago, I had to use WhatsApp to ask for my bag. They couldn’t locate it until I described what it looked like and the color of the tag. The rooms are in poor condition and need renovations. While I had no issue with the hotel’s location, as some places were within walking distance, the food was less than mediocre. The buffet had items that were inedible. If you got up to get more food, by the time you returned, your table would already be given away. I ended up leaving the property to eat dinner on multiple nights. The pool was constantly crowded. People would reserve chairs with towels and personal items, and I never saw the staff address this issue. I honestly expected much more from this property. I don’t think I will return unless major repairs and renovations are made. This property had a strange feel compared to other all-inclusives, as no one seemed to care about the guests. Staff members didn’t even bother to say “hola” in passing. The staff in the coffee shop were kind, but beyond that, not many employees stood out.

Wonderful!
The Hacienda at the Krystal Grand was wonderful! My friend convinced me to go with her as she had been two times previous and she loved it. The grounds are beautiful and quiet as if it were a small boutique resort. However, the staff are what really made it so amazing. Manuel, Emma, Marissa, Juan, and Antonio in the hacienda breakfast buffet were amazing! They were a joy to see every morning and always made sure our cups were filled with coffee. Caesar and Carlos at the pool were also wonderful always making sure we had drinks or whatever else we could have needed. I will definitely be back!!
