The beach access was wonderful. Sandy beach and not a lot of rocks. Wear water shoes due to coral. Beautiful sunset. The food was not the best and definitely would not choose this hotel if I was going for the food. With that being said the beach access and the ocean views made up for the food.

Feb 17, 2025Do NOT go to Sunscape in Cozumel.
Food always cold, they won't fix repairs properly or change your room when you ask due to safety issues of water leaking through light fixtures. Wait staff was slow but nice. No variety of food and only one small, shallow pool. Website says so much more and rates it 4.5 stars. It's more like 1/2 a star and has nothing the website says as far as eminities.

The Staff is incredibly gentle and respectful,I had fun with the Boss Ricardo and all the staff everyone is happy to work there, there's a good energy of peacefulness and it's the perfect place too disconnected for vacation... Voy a hacer des madre !!!!

Feb 16, 2025Better than expected. Highly recommend.
Our expectations were set low based on many previous reviews but within just a few days we determined that either those reviews were trolls or simply written by grumpy people who are just never satisfied. We have travelled to many different resorts over the years (most of them 4.5 or 5 stars) and can definitely say that we have absolutely zero complaints about this place. It is true that the hotel is dated and does need a fair bit of updating, but everything else is top notch. The staff were all very kind, helpful and attentive, and even though the choice of restaurants is limited, the menus varied almost every day and the quality of the food was as good as most anywhere else we’ve been - delicious in fact! The beach is beautiful although quite rocky just as you enter the ocean so water shoes are highly recommended, but the snorkelling is great which makes up for it. One thing to note is that while this resort only has two restaurants open at a time, guests from the two resorts on either side (Secrets and Dreams) are allowed to come and eat here and also use our amenities when we are not allowed to use any of theirs, which seems pretty unfair. But that really didn’t make our stay any less enjoyable. Don’t let those bad reviews deter you from coming here. It’s a great place to unwind from the rat race. Be patient and respectful to the staff and they will return the favour. We would come back in a heartbeat.

The Physical builds and rooms are really showing their age.
The resort is really showing its age and we had to change rooms to get away from a defective air conditioner. Our second room the ceiling had a bad patch job with white tape trying to hide a leak from the air conditioner. It was literally falling into the room.
