Excellent place to stay, some day, NOT now
Our stay at Staybridge Suites in Omaha @ 80th and Dodge had potential to be a great stay, but instead it almost was a disaster... We were planning a trip to Omaha to visit the Zoo and other stuff. Our traveling party consisted of 2 couples and 6 children (total of 10 people). We needed a hotel where you can sleep 5 people per room, and one that had a decent pool for the kids. I did an extended search for and decided Staybridge was our best bet, even though their website said it was undergoing renovations. We have stayed in other hotels that were in the renovation stage, and experience a few inconvenience but not bad. We booked our rooms (2) for Aug 9 & 10, 2024, almost a full month in advance from their own website. When we arrived, on Friday about 4:00pm, I left my family van as i checked in. As I walked into the front door the check-in counter is on your left and straight in front of you is a nice fireplace (I think or maybe just a small rock wall) on both sides was a construction site with an extreme mess and LOUD tools being used. By loud tools i mean like impact wenches, not your normal screw guns or nut drivers. These Noise echo though out the building... There was one gentleman (John P.) manning the desk, he was busy trying to answer the phones and check in the guess. I was VERY disappointed as I walked in and seen and heard the construction mess, and the lack of manpower at the desk. I asked what was going on and the gentleman said this is what we currently have to offer (or something like that). He also said they had a storm go though the area about a week or so ago and it knocked out their oven so all they had to offer for breakfast was Waffles and cereal, and the dinning room was close due to construction, so you can do a GRAB AND GO from a makeshift area in a conference room. I told him this is NOT what I sign up for and as to speak with the manager... He said I AM THE MANGER!!! at this point he became rude and said he would just cancel our reservation and we could go somewhere else. At this point, trying to find a different hotel that meet our needs and without any reservations was not an option. I went outside and discuss the matter with my wife and then returned inside and told him we had no other choice but to stay here but would like a 25% discount, he agreed, and we stayed. We were given 2 rooms on the 3rd floor, the rooms were on opposite ends of the hall. There was renovations being done on several rooms on the 3rd floor also... So you had noise coming from everywhere... The construction workers were courteous and step aside as you passed them in the hallway, although I could not understand the Spanish they were speaking. Construction stopped at 5:00pm, so that is a plus.... As for the rooms... We were very pleased with them. No one in our group had any complaints about the beds. They were clean. The suites we had came as a Kitchenette with a small "full" size refrigerator and a small stove, even a dishwasher... they were equipped with a few pots and pans and real dishes... Since we could not eat a "set down" HOT breakfast at the hotel then we were force to eat out... There just happens to be an excellent breakfast restaurant "JimmysEgg" that is only 300ft to the west. The only problem is, to feed 10 people it cost $149, EACH DAY!!! Staybridge had our email address, WHY DIDN'T THEY EMAIL US BEFORE TIME AND LET US KNOW ABOUT THESE SHORT COMINGS??? To their credit... Day 2 they installed plastic barriers over the construction areas so you do not see inside of it. Nosie was not as loud either... I think after the renovations are done and with NEW management, I think this could be an excellent place to stay, but in the meantime NOT...

Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else.
If i could give zero stars i would. House keeping is non existent. Been 2 weeks since ive had a cleaning. Never have towels. Go to front desk and they dont have any. Trash is never taken out unless I complain. Bed is never made. Floor is never vacuumed, or swept again unless I complain. Circuit breakers are always tripping leaving room with out power. Renovation going on which is understandable but all amenities that this place offers doesnt work. Social is cancelled- excuse- oven went out. Washer dryers dont work- excuse- we are working on that. Power goes out- excuse- we have been having problems with that. Air conditioner will not cool room below 85degrees- excuse- its hot out. Room not cleaned- excuse- having trouble with house keepers, computer system not working. Dont have clean towels- excuse- they dont have enough towels and washers are broke down. Im sorry but when only 3 of the 4 floors are rented there should be extra towels available. I had to go buy a knife and a skillet to use the kitchenette for dinner. The knife wouldnt even cut a muffin in half. No skillete to even use. Excuse after excuse after excuse with this place. Only thing I get is “Sorry” I will look into it. Paying a premium for this stay and have had way better service at Motel 6, Super 8, the less budget hotels. This place needs to get their act together. Not talking about the renovations, talking about everything else.

August 2024 stay
Stayed here with husband, mom niece and child. Lots of room for all of us. Super clean place. The gym was really nice. Lots of construction and unable to use the front enterance the morning we left making us have to go over a huge wall, not really the safest.. also fyi the pool is a little cold but some of our group enjoyed it. I would say the pool area needs a bit of an upgrade. All in all though i really liked this hotel for the amount of rooms the cleanliness and the updates in room . Would stay here again. Great location with lots of restaurants in the area

Under Construction wait until Fall 2024
I recently endured a horrendous 7-day stay at this hotel in Omaha. The property is currently undergoing renovations, and it severely impacted our stay. Our room’s electrical breaker malfunctioned daily, leaving us without lights multiple times. Housekeeping was nearly non-existent, only showing up twice during our entire week-long stay. We had to go to the front desk for towels, which were often unavailable, and we had to empty the garbage ourselves. The utensils in the room were filthy, with visible food stains, and the overall cleanliness of the room was deplorable. The hotel is clearly struggling with housekeeping staffing issues and the ongoing renovations are making things worse. I strongly advise waiting until they resolve these problems before considering a stay here.

Quick trip, stolen bag
The hotel was fine, rooms were spacious, it was a very quick trip, so we did not use any of the amenities. My teenage daughter forgot her purse in the room, which I know was our fault, but it would have really been appreciated if whomever found the purse in the room had turned it in rather than keeping it for themselves. My daughter is heartbroken as she had some jewelry with sentimental value in the bag. I'm sure this kind of thing happens all of the time, but it doesn't make it okay.
