A memorable experience in a NEGATIVE way
Upon arrival I was told that my room was in the Bay Tower. With great anticipation, I went to the room and found myself overlooking a marina. Called the front desk to ask if I could have a room facing the bay. Was told that no rooms were available despite the fact that the hotel was practically deserted. So much for having a high status with Marriott. In addition, there is no executive lounge not is compensation offered for the lack of the lounge which is common at other Marriott's. The room was tired, the bathroom was small and there was a lack of electrical outlets where I could Breakfast was an adventure. Ordered oatmeal and received something that was 85% water and possibly 15% oatmeal. It was the thinnest oatmeal that I have ever received. Vowing not to make the same mistake twice, I ordered an omelet with egg whites and spinach. Sounded safe. The cook must have an excess of salt that they needed to use, as the omelet was so salty it was really inedible. Upon checking out I asked for the email address of the General Manager to whom I could write an email summarizing my disappoint. Initially the staff member at the desk, did not want to provide me with the GM's email address. Finally, after a lengthy discussion I was provided with the individual's email address. I will note that despite 2 emails, I have yet to hear from the hotel. So much for loyalty.

Great renovation
I had not been to this location before the renovation but think the renovation is beautiful. It’s light, bright, and open; the rooms are comfortable and updated with balconies and nice views. The marina makes for a beautiful view, and there are several restaurants in walking or quick uber distance. Flight paths near airport didn’t bother me but rather the proximity for departure was convenient.

Helpful service during stressful times
We came down from the fires in L.A. Laurie from the Sheraton San Diego was the most helpful sincere lady! She made sure everything went smoothly and offered such helpful service. We are so grateful for her kind countenance. Thank you so much Laurie!

Resort prices at discount quality
The Rumorosa restaurant was show to be open until 10:30pm. We arrived at 9:30 and were told the kitchen is closed. We ate at the burger place across the hall and it was overpriced fast food, not great. $92 before tip for two sandwiches w fries, a beer and a glass of wine. In the room, we heard odd noises from floor above until about 11pm. Shower water temp was variable from almost scalding to cool, and not pleasant.

Sent to the old dated building
Very nice of them to get us a wildfire relief rate (we evacuated from LA), but we still spent quite a bit more than we thought due to the parking and resort fees and were sent to the very old, very distant, very dated Bay building, in a connecting room (which we did not request) where you can hear the other room’s toilet flushes, the place is subpar clean (the sheets at least are clean). The view is spectacular and the balcony nice but that’s about it. Didn’t seem like the other tower was packed, so I think they sent us there due to the discount rate (or bc of who we are?) If you want to use any of the resort amenities, the other tower is very far. I guess we knew there was a chance of it, but in the hurry of evacuating we didn’t request or read the reviews thoroughly. I would have rather stayed at a Hilton at this point— also were giving out fire relief rates. The 2.5 star Hampton Inn rooms we were in earlier felt nicer. We did appreciate that the parking fee was discounted as well though.
