Perfect for theater enthusiasts
The staff were excellent. The location was perfect for going to the theater and catching the subway. The hotel is under construction with only one entrance through the garage working but otherwise we would certainly choose this hotel again.

The Staff Made It!
Sometimes hotel staff make or break your hotel stay. Fortunately, three staff members made my 5-day stay extremely enjoyable – Charlette (Front Office Director), Kelly Chen (Housekeeping), and Joy (Front Desk). All three were extremely kind and went above and beyond the call of duty. So grateful! As far as the hotel is concerned, the rooms are a decent size, the beds are comfortable, there is daily housekeeping, the gym is incredibly huge, the breakfast buffet is generous and tasty ($38), and it has an amazing location. Yes, it’s an old hotel, hence, the lobby renovation taking place which makes the temporary lobby crammed, but you can’t complain about the hotel being old and also complain about a major renovation taking place. All in all, a pleasant stay made memorable by the three ladies mentioned above.

Travel agent tried to get me to move my booking to another hotel a week before travel. Wish I had listened
Very poor. Really needs a big upgrade. Was wondering why so many people had takeaway food walking past. Found out while looking at the menu. First rooms that we had were not cleaned from the customers before. How can this happen?. Only Some staff members cared

Good location but a lackluster experience
This hotel has some issues right now. Pluses: 1. Comfortable beds 2. Good water pressure 3. Great location. If you are in town to see Broadway shows or go to Carnegie Hall, the location is very convenient. Problems: 1. Inadequately staffed check-in. We waited in a 45-minute line to check in. The Sheraton Times Square is a giant hotel and there were only three agents staffing check in with a huge throng of people in line. The lobby was crowded and very cold, which made the experience additionally unpleasant. 2. The posted price does not include an additional $35/day/room charge, which you can apply to food and beverage. But if you do not use it on a particular day, you lose it. You also cannot use it on the day that you check out. 3. The hotel is under construction. There was no associated noise during our weekend stay, but some ambiance is definitely lost in the public spaces. 4. The breakfast is overpriced and not great ($40pp). The quality is about what you would expect from a causal hotel next to a freeway with a free breakfast (e.g. Hampton Inn). You will do much better crossing 53rd street and having breakfast at La Grande Boucherie. 5. There is no room service. So, the hotel is not really full-service at this time. 6. The double rooms have full sized beds and not queens. So, if you're planning on sleeping four people, it's going to be cozy. 7. The no smoking policy does not seem to be well enforced. Our hallway and the entryway of our room smelled of pot smoke on arrival. 8. They charge for checking bags at the desk. In summary, the Sheraton Times Square is providing a "Spirit Airlines" type experience right now. Technically, you'll get what you need where you need it. But it's a budget experience with hidden costs and extra charges.

Complete Trash hotel
This is place should not be a Marriot brand. It is complete garbage from top to bottom. Let me list out just some key issues- Staff does not have any idea what’s actually happening at the hotel. Dirty, including duct, tape on carpeting in the floors, broken thermostat in my room, hair on my shower floor, found a woman’s sweat sweater in the drawer next to my bed so that was different, most of the cardio equipment has something broken with it- should I continue? There is no concierge’s room anymore and the $30 they give you for food credit cannot be used on day of checkout, but they don’t tell you that either. So when you go to use it and you get charged for your corporate card you find out later and then they make you feel bad for doing you a favor for giving you the $21 back. Don’t waste your time stay somewhere else there’s so many more options . And garbage outside rooms from the night before the night before.. Elevator pad busted as a bonus. Your welcome.
