A smokers paradise and what preferred club!?
I get that it is Jamaica but there was smoking of weed, cigarettes and cigars everywhere. To start, our neighbors were smoking in their room and smoke was coming into our room via the vent. There were no smoking signs up but no one followed the no smoking signs and it wasn’t enforced. There was even a garbage can with an ashtray on top of it, right next to one of the signs. We saw many people smoking cigarettes at the pool and saw a couple people smoking weed and cigars at the pool. People also just freely walked around smoking cigarettes on the grounds. Watched a couple people just walk into rest room with cigarettes. At the piano bar I saw several people just smoking at their tables while watching the shows. We had to leave the shows twice due to smoking blowing our way. I never saw any staff member say anything or enforce the nonsmoking rules. I understand if you want to smoke but I don’t want to deal with it and that is why there were/are smoking areas. Also we stayed in the preferred area but they just let anyone come over to the preferred area. On many occasions I saw people who didn’t have preferred club towels, come over to the preferred beach and pool area. I even saw a staff member tell someone with a non preferred club towel that they could sit at the preferred beach. We paid extra to stay in the preferred area but didn’t see the point in the preferred area since all guest were allowed to use that area. This was the first time we have stayed at a secrets and will probably be our last time. We should have stayed at an excellence resort like we normally do but figured we would try out a secrets

Wonderful
This is a beautiful resort with incredible food, great service and entertainment. Our stay was met with high quality hospitality from the front desk representative, Akile, who was friendly and helpful and made sure our stay was pleasant.

When can we go back?
This place never disappoints! Fantastic experience as always. Stayed in a swim out room which was amazing. Duran and Kenroy were attentive and fantastic. It was a beautiful place and we had a wonderful time. We miss it already and wish we were still there!

Memorable Experience
Friendly service most of the most of the time! Food was great all rest. Housekeeping Service were fantastic, Outdoor shows along with pool staff and games were fantastic. We especially enjoyed the BBQ Jerk chicken. We opt for the private dinner on the beach and were completely satisfied food was great along with the service.

2nd Chance, let me down again.
If you drink Malibu Rum, I suggest you bring your own. Most of us dream of a Tropical Vacation with a delicious Pina Colada on the Beach. Well that scenario is not here. They do NOT have Malibu at any of the Pool Bars. You will have a tough time finding it anywhere on property. Do not lose anything there, especially on your day of checkout. It was 1 hour before checking out when I realized, I left my Go Pro Bag with my $$ in it at the Beach or Cocoa Cafe. I called Security to inform them, thinking they would go look for it as we were waiting for Bell Hop. Instead. they told me I had to stay in my as they had to search all of our belongings. I'm like "what?". I knew we didn't have it & this is only allowing time for others to find it & steal it. I had to wait 1 hour & 15 minutes, until I was allowed to go look for my bag, which was found. In the meantime, we missed our ride to the airport that we paid for in advance. We also did not get to enjoy a cocktail & relax before we left. It made our last day a living hell. In addition, at checkout they tried to charge me more for a bottle of wine I bought. My menu said $54. The PC had a menu that said $64 & yet the Hyatt App says $60. 3 different prices for the same bottle of wine. Something doesn't add up. It is extra sad considering I tipped them $20 just to carry it to my room for me, as I'm disabled & didn't want to drop a glass bottle. Our last day, left a lasting impression as we were treated as criminals, like I was lying about my bag & $ being gone, yet they were the ones trying to RIP me off by CHARGING more $ than what my menu & more than what the app was charging. We had to different Butlers, Kenroy & Duran. Kenroy we only had for part of an evening & the following day, He was awesome & I would recommend him. The other Duran, was very unfriendly, never smiled & not once did he engage in conversation with me. He even had the audacity to tell us that we "must abide by the dress code for dinners". This was very strange, as he knew it wasn't our 1st time there & the previous night we were the best dressed guests, for sure. The food was good, drinks poor, service 50/50. However, they do have beautiful Sunsets. After the rude treatment from Duran, holding me hostage so I couldn't go find my bag & than UP CHARGING me at checkout, I don't plan on returning. I should also let you know that this was a do over form last year. Don't know if my review from last year is still up as I think I deleted it after they offered us a do over. Last year they almost killed my Daughter by putting alcohol in her virgin drinks. She had a heart transplant & due to medications she's on, alcohol can kill her. She had 2 sips on 1 & almost fainted. We also had several other issues that I wrote about. Lets talk Pools. You now must pay $100-$130 a day if you want to lay next to the pools edge. This year they lined the pools with bali beds that you must pay for. The sun loungers that are free are furthest from the pool & face the bali beds, so you det to look at guest in a bali bed vs a pretty pool. Also they changed their sun loungers. Instead of plastic they are made of metal, burning you as the metal is hot as hell! We now have experienced this Resort twice & both times us with an unpleasant experience & lasting impressions. I LOVE SECRETS RESORTS!!! I have been to 6 of them & trying a new 1 in October, making it 7 total. I have 2 YouTube Channels featuring Secrets Resorts & others as well. I also have s Secrets Facebook Group. So it truly saddens me to have to write a negative review. After being treated poorly both times at this Resort, I would NEVER Return, unless someone else was paying, they stocked the pool bars with Malibu & had Kenroy or equivalent as my Butler.
