Jan 29, 2025Great hotel with a massive caveat
Maybe I didn't read enough reviews but the fact that this hotel, at close to $1100/night, pressures you into sitting down with the timeshare clowns is incredibly frustrating. After getting off the plane with a dodgy experience through immigrations, the last thing I expected was to be pushed towards a "breakfast" experience with some upselling schmucks. Downright ruined the experience for me. Other than that crap first experience, everything else was great. Food was solid, beach/pool were pretty well maintained and the staff were all kindl/friendly and accommodating. Lose the aggressive upsell and it would be a 5-star review.

Secrets Maroma Beach is the ultimate anniversary destination. The service is top notch and the staff are amazing. My wife and I celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary and it was a perfect celebration. We strongly recommend this resort to any mature couple that wants to relax and be pampered. Our personal concierge Guillermo Saldana was wonderful. He was available for any and all of our needs. He is an amazing person and does his job 100%.

Exceptional stay at a wonderful resort!
We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Secrets Maroma. From the moment we arrived, the service was impeccable. The food was absolutely amazing - the breakfast buffet was fantastic, and all the restaurants were wonderful. The resort itself is immaculate - large clean rooms and the pools are amazing. The beach is one of the best I've been to - gorgeous soft, white sand. And the resort is great at addressing any seaweed/saragassum. Estephanie and Gabriella from the World Cafe, Estela by the pool, Hector from Portafino and Carlos and Guillermo from Himitsu all went out of their way to make our stay extra special and we are so grateful. We can't wait to return and could not recommend this wonderful place enough!

Exquisite resort
Exquisite resort with high end amenities. The food is fantastic. The grounds are spectacular. The beach is sugar white pristine. Even the gym is wonderful!!! I stayed for 4 days on a women's retreat. I felt completely comfortable. The spa is so beautiful. Cold plunge pool, hot tub, wet and dry saunas, and the services were so relaxing.

Affordable Luxury
First trip as a married couple! The resort took care of us very well on our honeymoon. The friendliness of the staff is unparalleled. A safe and comfortable option for anyone looking to have a tropical stay for their vacation. We plan to come back for our anniversary in the coming years!
