Feb 28, 2025Terrible food and rooms, great staff
The food was not good, they tried poorly to Americanize it like others have said, we were preferred club but couldn’t get a room upgrade and our room had quite a few issues but they wanted us to pay several hundred more to upgrade. The best part of the resort was Arby and the activities crew, they were so fun and interactive and the best part of the trip by far. We rented a jeep to see other parts of the island and I would definitely recommend that as well!

Very disappointed in the secrets preferred upgrade totally not what we expected room wise. The rooms were very generic and blah feeling the beds felt like they were a million years old. there was really no where to put your clothes other than leaving them in your suitcase there was only 2 hangers in the closet .

Stay Away
Do not waste your money on this resort. It smells moldy and musty. It is a run down hotel that needs a lot of work. They advertise top shelf wine and liquor, and I can assure you it's not. If your a foodie, there is only one place worth going to and that's the Gohan Sushi Bar. I just remember feeling duped and cheated out on after spending a lot of money on a dream vacation that turned out to be nothing advertised.

Review of Secrets Cozumel: A Beachside Getaway Visiting Secrets Cozumel provided an opportunity to enjoy a beautiful beachfront location, which was the primary reason for our visit. However, there were some aspects that could be improved to enhance the overall experience. Accommodations and Amenities The resort itself felt a bit tired, and the furniture on the beach and around the pool areas could benefit from some updating. Compared to other resorts where we have stayed as a preferred club member, Secrets Cozumel did not quite measure up in terms of accommodations. While other locations have provided a 5-star experience, Secrets Cozumel felt more like a 3.5-star resort. One area for improvement is the availability of chairs and lounges on the beach. It would have been nice to see more seating options, allowing guests to fully enjoy the beachside atmosphere. Pool and Beach Facilities The pools, while enjoyable, were not always in pristine condition. There were instances where they were not filled to the appropriate levels, and cleanliness was not consistently maintained. Enhancing the upkeep of these areas would significantly improve guest satisfaction. Exceptional Staff Despite some of the resort's shortcomings, the staff at Secrets Cozumel were truly amazing. They were accommodating, friendly, and genuinely committed to providing the best experience possible for all guests. Their dedication and warm hospitality were highlights of our stay, and they made a lasting impression. Conclusion Secrets Cozumel offers a stunning beach location, and the staff's exceptional service adds significant value to the experience. However, updating accommodations and improving the maintenance of facilities would elevate the resort to a higher standard. With these enhancements, Secrets Cozumel could become a standout destination for beach lovers seeking a relaxing getaway.

We enjoyed our stay at Secrets Aura cozumel. Little issues like lack of hot water or a bar fridge that doesn't work or quickly taken care of. The service was incredible especially the team at Market Cafe: Kenia and Rosana always saw that we were seated comfortably, our servers were all wonderful at risk of forgetting anyone: Thank you to Mario, Albertos, Gaspar, Gaspar, Ricardo and Elizabeth! The team at dive house were great thank you David for answering all my questions!
