Way Overdue for a Refresh
VERY dated property that’s badly in need of a refresh. My room didn’t even have a single USB charging port! On site food prices are as high or higher than at the airport. A small tea and a sausage, egg and cheese breakfast sandwich came to almost $12.

Great staff! Beautiful grounds
We are just finishing a week at Sawgrass Marriott. We were pleasantly surprised at how nice the staff were. Mark and Terry at Sipps bar get a special shout out! They went above and beyond to provide a wonderful experience each evening. Mark is a very inventive bartender! The best! We also had an amazing experience at the Stadium course. Our husbands loved the golf course and Sandy gave us a wonderful tour! The grounds are beautiful and well kept and we can’t say enough about every staff person they were all kind and helpful!

Underwhelming villas
Hotel may be ok but we stayed in the awful golf villas. Remotely located from all the rest of the property. These are in terrible condition. Peeling paint. Weak A/C. Dirty, very worn and needing remodeling. No vending machines or any access to food without a lengthy drive across the vast expanse of the property.

Subpar but nice pool and pool staff
Visiting with our family with two toddlers. Had a great day by the pool and Julia was so helpful and sweet with our family. The poolside cafe was not open (although there were plenty of guests poolside throughout the day), so we went to get lunch at Alice and Pete’s. After waiting for about 15 minutes at a table and no staff greeted us (signat entrance told us to seat ourselves), a member of our party went inside to ensure staff new we were in need of service. Another fifteen minutes later, a young woman (who was also working as the restaurant’s bartender) came out and handed us menus, but you could tell she was not interested in providing service to our table (she seemed overwhelmed). She said she would be back with waters, without taking our drink orders or introducing herself. We waited another fifteen minutes waiting for her to return with promised waters and the opportunity to order, but we never saw her again. After an unproductive and stressful 45 minutes with toddlers, we left without being served a glass of water or the opportunity to order food. My friend went to the grocery store nearby and got sandwiches from grocery store which we ate poolside. After a day in the sun, we went to our room for the first time since checking in and were underwhelmed with the odor, it smelled like paint or chemicals. There was an on “RestoreAir” machine in our room, I called the front desk to complain and they apologized but offered no resolution until I asked how they were going to fix it. They then offered to move us to a different room, which we took them up on and moved ourselves and children from one room to the other. The furniture in the room is stained and chipped, and I would have thought I was at a Super 8 instead of a Marriott. The lobby and grounds are beautiful, and we greatly enjoyed the pool but everything else was profoundly sub par.

Can’t be a Marriott Resort
I’m Marriott Platinum. Don’t stay here. We drove up to the valet and were asked if we wanted valet. I said I think so. There’s no parking lot in sight. Then another person couldn’t find our name. They shuffled papers and announced we were in the villas. No idea what that means. That means you check in inside the hotel and drive to your small building, near the hotel, not in the hotel, you’re on your own. In the dark, in the rain, good luck. Villa is an old dump. Total dive. Smells like mildew. Old crappy furniture, more like a basement. Old tvs. AC blowing ice cold or musty. Bedroom has no AC. Phone did not work. Called hotel 4 times on cell phone to get a burger and the worst flat bread I’ve ever had for 60 bucks. Website menu and ordering did not work. Kitchen has no cups. Just a couple of plates and bathroom size glasses. Trash can outside overflowing, trash piled on sides and top. Ewww. Gross. This is not a Marriott Resort.
