Great trip
The property was really nice. Don't pay extra for the butler. Not worth it. We made friends there who got more from the building concierge than we got from our butler. Also stay clear of Under the Sea. Food was not good. Both italian restaurant and the Mexican place were good. Joselito at the diamond club beach was super friendly and helpful. So was Miquel with the excursion desk. If you have kids, do the Monkey land and zip line excursion. 10/10

Check in process has been a true nightmare!!! Do better Royalton Splash!
I have arrived and checked in today and I am livid at the check in process. We arrived at 1:30 and I understand that check in starts at 3 which is totally acceptable that the room was not ready. We ate and could not really walk around much in the heat because we arrived from NY and had winter clothes on. We go back to the lobby for our room assignment at 3 and still nothing. We wait. They kept saying 15 min, and I had to walk to the desk 5 times to be told not ready. At 4:10 the room was finally ready, actually semi ready because we walk in to them still making the beds!!!. Now another adventure to get our luggage to the room. Mind you we do not have our bathing suits or even summer clothes, forgot to mention I have 2 small children. We are stuck in the room with our winter clothes for an hour and 40 mins after many phone calls to reception and even an unanswered call to the manager, I was told by an attendant oh the luggage is sent room by room. I asked can I come grab it because my kids want to get in the pool and need their bathing suits and the response by a lady named Rebecca that I had to just wait until they got to my room. Now, after almost a 2 hour wait, my husband speaks to someone that says oh we never gave in our ticket stub that we were given at arrival when nobody in this 5 hour period of waiting ever mentioned we needed to give that in before we got our luggage. Bad way to start our stay at Royalton Splash. I’m hoping it only goes up from here but they have to do better. It’s the middle of the week and not even a busy day. As a frequent world traveler I usually recommend places to my friends and family and I am doubtful that I will be recommending Royalton Splash to anyone. Do better, specially in this climate where Punta Cana is under so much scrutiny.

Diamond Club is a MUST ** Poor service
We traveled as a group during March Break, and I wanted to share the overall feedback and opinions that I’ve heard from everyone in our group. RESORT GROUNDS AND LAYOUT Both resorts are beautiful in their own way! The Punta Cana side offers a more luxurious experience and is much easier to navigate, featuring a more modern vibe. The Splash side, on the other hand, has a more tropical ambiance with lush landscaping and an abundance of palm trees. However, the Splash side is larger and a bit trickier to navigate at first—it took me a couple of days to find my way around. The walk between Splash and Punta Cana is quite pleasant, surrounded by beautiful greenery, and it’s only about a 5-minute stroll between the two. FOOD - BUFFET AND A LA CARTE The buffet was good, as you'd expect at a resort down south, but the Punta Cana side offered a wider variety and, in my opinion, was better. Service for drinks was a bit slow, though that's understandable since the resort was packed and it was March Break. As for the à la carte options, I didn’t think it was worth it. The buffet was just as good, if not better. We tried a few 'A la carte'—they were decent, but booking reservations felt like more trouble than it was worth. The reservation system seemed like a mess. I know it was a busy time, but everyone we spoke to could only get reservations early (between 5-6 PM) or late (after 9 PM). One person in our group even noticed that if you ordered a bottle of wine (starting at $50 USD) along with your reservation, suddenly the prime-time slots would "magically" become available. Only a few of us managed to secure reservations during the more popular times. Some of our group members who’ve visited similar resorts in Punta Cana during March Break over the last few years pointed out that those resorts offered better food and a greater selection at the buffet. They also found booking à la carte restaurants much easier, with more availability for preferred times compared to Royalton. SERVICE & MAINTENANCE Having traveled to various resorts ranging from 3 to 5 stars, I can honestly say this one provided the worst service I’ve experienced. There simply wasn’t enough staff for the number of guests. I’ve never had to wait more than a couple of minutes for a drink at a bar, but here it was common to wait up to 10-15 minutes. Even the Diamond Club bars, which promised faster service, didn’t live up to that expectation. Maybe if you visit during quieter times, like in January or April-May, the service might be better. I was really disappointed, as Royalton is a well-known brand, which is why I chose to book here without hesitation. The washrooms by the pool and beach areas were in poor condition by the afternoon, with no cleaning staff in sight. I would sometimes make the effort to use the washrooms in the lobby, where cleaning staff were more present during the day. POOLS, BEACH & SPLASH PARK The beach was absolutely stunning—just WOW! There were plenty of huts for shade, but you had to get there early to reserve your spot. This is a common issue at most resorts, so I wasn’t surprised that we had to wake up early to grab pool and beach chairs—no big deal. What did disappoint me, though, was that to get a front-row beach chair, you had to reserve a Bali Bed for $100 USD, which included the front-row beach chairs. I’ve seen this at other resorts as well, but I just wish it had been made clear in the resort information. Both resorts had fantastic pools! Each had a quiet pool and a lively entertainment pool, so there was something for everyone. The splash park was a big hit with the kids—they had an amazing time. It’s definitely one of the best perks of this resort. ENTERTAINMENT The White Party and Foam Party were definitely worth attending—fun for both kids and adults! We had an amazing time! The entertainment on the Punta Cana side seemed to be better compared to the Splash side. Out of all the resorts I’ve visited, this one seemed to offer more entertainment options than most. The kids in our group had a great time participating in a few activities at the kids' club and also enjoyed the escape room. ROOMS The rooms were pretty average and similar to what you'd find at most resorts. They definitely weren’t soundproof, though. We could hear a lot of echoes from the hallway, so we had to put a towel under the door to block out some of the noise. We could also hear the toilets flushing from the room above us and we could easily hear footsteps as well. A few of our friends stayed on the Punta Cana side, and their rooms were much nicer and appeared to have been renovated compared to ours. Our bracelet also served as our room key, which was a nice bonus perk. It made things a lot more convenient! DIAMOND CLUB If you stay at the Splash resort, getting full access to the Punta Cana side is a MUST! It’s definitely worth it. You also get access to the Diamond Club Lounge, where they serve snacks, cold bottles of water, drinks, and coffee with no lines, which is a great perk. Plus, the premium liquor at the Diamond Club bars was definitely a bonus. However, the food service at the Diamond Club beach bar was incredibly slow. It took anywhere from 1 to 1.5 hours to get food, which was frustrating. Thankfully, the bar was set up in a nice shaded area, so we just relaxed with drinks while we waited. We were excited about the butler service to help us book our 'à la carte' restaurants, but unfortunately, he wasn’t much help. He simply told us to use the app to book on our own. When we asked about booking a group dinner, it seemed too complicated for him, as we all had different butlers. He said it would only be possible if we all had the same butler. We also requested the complimentary bottle of liquor they provide, but after asking twice, we never received it. Some people in our group had a great experience with their butler and felt well taken care of, but others never even heard from theirs during the entire week. OVERALL If I were to return to this resort, it would only be to the Punta Cana side. However, I would make sure to check the reviews to see if the service has improved before deciding to return. The workers aren’t to blame for the poor service—it’s the resort’s fault for not having enough staff to properly handle the number of guests. If you book during a quieter time, you’ll likely experience better service. Though the resort didn’t meet our expectations, we made the most of the situation and didn’t let it stop us from having a great time and an amazing trip.

2 thumbs up!
We have stayed at the Royalton 3 x now and it never disappoints. We love the staff and especially the services of our butler, Edwin. The beach cannot be beat and we had such fun in the waves. We will return again indeed! The food is good and if you get to know the people and spend some time chatting, the service is wonderful!
