    Review of my stay

Thank you for your excellent quality of service. The attention of its collaborators is first class. I was delighted to see that it is a very family-friendly hotel. The assigned butler is excellent. I would only like that if there is any gift from the hotel other than those that are normal, the guest has the information or otherwise the information is clearly visible. If I had to recommend it, I would gladly do so.

    Honest Review

Very simple review. The only review you need. Pros and cons, no one has patience to read lengthy sentences with no context. Pro: clean, friendly staff, fantastic drinks, amazing beach. Cons: pool water is freezing, service at the buffet is awful, you’ll never see your waitress. The trolly does not pass every 5 minutes, more like 10 at night and you’re not sure to have a seat. The rooms are dated, AC is loud. Food: you can eat.

Great value for the money, awesome all-inclusive resort

I spent weeks researching various all-inclusive resorts in Punta Cana, and for the money, this resort offered the most value. I am really glad we upgraded to Diamond Club for our anniversary stay. Santos made our stay that much more special by having a cake delivered to our room with decorations. We had everything we needed. The entire property was very clean and manicured. The room we were in needed some maintenance since the bathroom fan didn't function. The minor cosmetic repairs that were made, looked very sloppy and unprofessional. They were supposed to stock our mini fridge daily, but that only happened three times during our 5 night stay. There were plenty of food options between Spash and Punta Cana resorts. While we had some food that wasn't great, there were so many options, that we can't complain. We found plenty to do each day and loved going to the beach as much as possible. I think though, next time, we will probably stay at the Punta Cana resort as it was much nicer.

    The worst experience ever!!!

My family and I travel a lot and I can safely say this was the worst hotel we have ever stayed in. First, our room was dirty and we found old dirty socks behind the bed. The smoke detector was missing in our room - it looked like there was one there but someone removed it and never replaced it. Multiple room keys stopped functioning within a day of checking in. We waited over an hour and a half for dinner to be served at one of the restaurants on site. Customer service is the WORST. Our room didn’t have blow dryer and they sent 2 non-functioning blow dryers before I complained to Marriott and they finally sent one that works. I could go on and on but I can say with certainty that I will never go back to this hotel again!!! We were traveling with 4 other families and they felt similarly about the LACK of customer service. Buyer beware!!!

The facilities didn’t bring my family back, the people did!

We have stayed 17 nights over two trips to Royalton Splash. My review is real and honest. The facilities aren’t perfect. There are disappointments. Having said that, inconveniences will happen anywhere. It is how the people respond that matters and keeps us coming back. 1) Learn enough Spanish to communicate your needs. The majority of staff speak limited English. Hearing you attempt to tell them “Hello”, “Thank You”, “Good Morning, or “How are you?” in their native language is priceless to the staff. If you don’t feel like your needs are understood, use Google Translate and then hand the staff your phone so they can read your message in Spanish. They can speak back into your phone and you can read the response in English. 2) Pay for a Diamond Club Butler and trust him/her to meet your needs. Don’t waste your vacation focused on the negatives. Let your Butler fight your battles, if any arise, for you. 3) The staff work several days in a row and then have an extended break. Get to know them on a personal level. Ask about their families that they do not see for extended periods. Family is extremely important in the Dominican culture. If you show an interest in their families, you quickly become part of it. Edwin is an incredible Butler. He will meet and exceed your expectations from early mornings to late nights. All you have to do is communicate those needs and he will follow up for a quick resolution. Elvin, a Butler assigned to other families, was a true foot soldier. It didn’t matter where we were on site, he was always visible. He was always available and went out of his way to exceed our expectations when Edwin was away. The Beach Butlers Jean Carlos, Remigio, and Joselito, and Yovanny went out of their way to welcome us and set up loungers in a prime location every day we visited. Nichol checked on us countless times with a warm smile on the beach to be sure our hearts and glasses stayed full. These guys work so hard in blazing sun for hours and are still so kind and outgoing. Always present with a hug and a smile every time we saw them. They keep the beach clean to compliment the absolutely stunning soft, white sand and beautiful blue water. Our beach experience could not be better. Elias, at the Diamond Club Bubbles Bar, kept the non-alcoholic drinks flowing for my kids with a smile. They really enjoyed the attentiveness at the swim up bar and around the wade in pool. Daily breakfast and lunch at the Marché Buffett was priceless. Gisel, Leydi, Julio, Juan Molina, and Yonathan were so very kind and attentive. We took pictures and added them on What’sApp and Facebook to keep in touch. Gisel, in particular, made it a point to make sure my children were treated like family. My daughter made them a “Thank You” card in the Kids’ Club to show her appreciation for their kindness. The highlight of our trip is a staff member named Deli. He worked at Grazie on our last trip but has moved to evenings at the Score Bar. Deli is an incredible human being. No one has ever made us feel so welcome and wanted at any facility we have visited. This man has a heart like none other. We made sure to spend extra time with him every day. He even sent me a text message on the morning of our departure day and again that night to be sure we got home safely after our flight. I appreciate your time if you are still reading this. There is no place, and no culture, like the Dominican Republic. These people leave their families for many days and you have the opportunity to become a replacement family for them. If you treat them with the love and respect they deserve, their kindness will bring you tears of joy.
