    Beautiful

My family and I stayed at the royalton for 1 week and it was great. Amazing food, beach was beautiful and warm. So much for all of us to do. The staff was amazing. Just before we went I read up on some reviews and don’t understand the negative ones. Our experience was a 10.

    Really good resort

My wife and i returned from a great week at the Royalton Riviera Cancun, and i must say before getting there i was worried from all of the negative reviews posted. We certainly found there we no worries....the week was great. Yes there is a smell you can notice on occasion, but once you see that the resort is surrounded by mangroves you can understand where it comes from, and over all that was not an issue. The service we found was good to great, no concerns at all. This is a large resort, with many many pools and a great beach. The drinks were ok, nothing amazing, but ok, the buffet was very good. It's huge and we did try it for breakfast, lunch and dinner,,,all good. The al a carts were very good, out favorites were the Caribbean and Hunter's steak house. We also really enjoyed the lunch barbeque that was put on one day around the main pool. There are lots of activities happening at this place, i would say if you looking for a small quite resort, this isn't it.....definitely lots happening. We stayed in the diamond club and we found it worth the extra for sure, out butler Nora was great, so easy to connect with her to book dinners, spa, etc....also a special shout out to Israel our #1 server around the pool, he was fantastic, and to Ruben the diamond club pool concierge, who keeps the area clean and organized (and towels flowing ). About towels, i read many complaints that there aren't enough, what we saw is really do to the weather, it wasn't great, rainy half the time so towels would get wet, and people were needing extra to dry the loungers (and to keep warm). We did the spa, it was very good, yes expensive, but i would say a usual Mexican resort price (speak to the Spa staff and your butler as you will get various pricing) Our only negative note would be about the floors in the main area, they are smooth polished marble, and when they get wet.....yikes, very slippery! Be careful. Plus around the pool areas the ground / pavement is uneven so be careful. Over all very good time, very good food and good to very good service, if your looking for a big resort with all kinds of activity, and maybe on the louder side until 10:00pm ish... this could be the place. Hoping you have better weather. Cheers

    Royalton Riviera Cancun. Diamond Club

Pros: Accessibility: Good ramps and an escalator for easier movement throughout the hotel. Towel policy: No towel card required—take as many towels as you need without a deposit. Dining options: Variety of restaurants with fresh, plentiful options. The buffet is always stocked and has great variety. Staff: Friendly, helpful, and accommodating. Overall, excellent service from the hotel staff. Ocean Bar: A great spot to relax. Cons: Tripping hazards: Rough, cracked concrete with random inclines and uneven surfaces. Not ideal for barefoot walking. Pools: Not heated, which can be a downside for some. Butler service: Falls short of expectations. Only one robe, no slippers, and no turndown service. You’ll need to request anything that’s listed, and much of it is accessible via the hotel app or TV service. Room design: Rooms are outdated. The large tub in the middle of the room feels unnecessary, and the pocket toilet room is awkward. Walls are thin, and noise from neighboring rooms is audible. Pool chair competition: People save chairs as early as 6 AM, leading to aggressive competition for the best spots. Voucher system: Upon check-in, you receive a $600 US voucher, which can be exchanged for discounts on various services (e.g., $20 off Bali bed rental). Bali bed pricing: The Bali beds, at $180 US per hour, are overpriced, especially when you receive a discount through the voucher system. These should be free for Diamond Club guests. Oceanfront lounge chairs: Many are mismatched, worn down, and some are often wet with missing cushions. Odor: There’s a noticeable smell in certain areas, likely from standing water. Diamond Club lobby: The Diamond Club check-in area is far from the actual Diamond Club area, making it inconvenient for guests. Room amenities: No liquor in the room as promised.

    Go to agave!

Had a great time at this resort!! The entertainment staff was amazing (especially Ernesto), the pool bar staff was amazing (especially Ricardo), the pool staff (Ruben, Miguel and others) but the best part of our stay was going to the a la carte restaurants ESPECIALLY going to agave. The food was incredible, our waiter Asbel suggested some really delicious things and we’re so happy he was our server. Asbel was honestly one of the best servers I’ve ever had. So attentive, kind and make our night so special. Thank you Abel and all the other amazing staff at Royalton!

    Asbel the Server

We stayed at the Royalton Hideaway adults only part of the resort. The best part of our stay was the service we got while at Royalton was with Asbel at the Agave Mexican restaurant! Thank you for the memorable experience and all that you did to make our engagement very special
