Fantastic Experience!
We have been doing an annual couples beach vacation for over 12 years. We’ve tried various resorts in various locations in Mexico, Dominican Republic, and Costs Rica. Royalton Chic was easily one of our favorites trips. The beach is gorgeous and you can take long walks in either direction. The rooms are beautiful. We did not get diamond club and I do not feel we missed out in any way. We did pay the little bit extra for an ocean view room and that was 100% worth it. The views were amazing. Concierge Cesar made sure we had special, personalized experiences. Bartender Carlos had my drink memorized. His smile and quiet kindness was a highlight in my day. Monserrat spoiled us with the detail she used in taking care of our room. We tried every restaurant there and they were all great. The buffet was really good too, and we would have been just as happy eating there! We started and ended our day at the coffee shop and the staff there were all so kind accommodating. We had a great experience and I would go back in a heartbeat.

No bottled water in entire resort
My 22 year old daughter is currently there and the water went out last night, it came back on for 30 mins today and went back out around noon. The hotel is claiming to be out of bottle water in the entire resort. Can’t even flush the toilets. Now they can’t wash their hands or brush their teeth. They paid extra to be on the top Club level. This is absurd. As a titanium Bonvoy member I personally told them they would be safe and not have to worry about things like this at all Marriott property. Completely not worth the trip. It’s unacceptable.

Best resort in Cancun because of the staff
My 4th visit to Royalton chic starting to become my second home because of the way the staff treat me and the level of service I just don't get anywhere else have to say a big thank you to my good friend Gloria Vazquez simply the best gym instructor in Cancun if you are lucky enough to attend one of her classes you will see why she is the BEST and more importantly a fabulous person she leads a great team of Sharon , Esteban and Adan all great instructor's even if you are not into fitness try one of their classes you will have a great time and lots of fun I was lucky enough to have the dream team of butler's Sandra and Iran who make sure everything runs smoothly if there is any kind of problem or if you have any request they will sort it out trust me they are the dream team for a reason a big thank you to chef canella other wise know as Mr cinnamon for preparing my food every day I know I'm a pain but I really appreciate the time and the effort and of course all the waiters in the buffet for the great service and the kindness you always show me and Ismail the dinner supervisor my beach waitress Alexa for great service and finally the level 18 girls Geraldine and Georgina great to meet you again and as always great fun to be around please treat the staff with respect and they will do everything they can to make sure you have a great vacation look forward to seeing you all again in October in the meantime take care and stay safe. Terrible experience at Royalton Chic , Cancun
They should change their name to Royalton Chic as this is how they treated us upon arrival and check in ! We are world travellers and nowhere we have seen such unfriendly staff to check us in ! We were 2 couples and made our reservations with them for 2 rooms and 2 couples and payment made in September 2024 . On March 4th , after long travels we reached the cancun property around 8 and were looking forward to a relaxing evening ! We were escorted to diamond members club check in ( as we are diamond club members ) To our utter astonishment , we were told by the staff on duty ( Victor ) that our booking is valid for only 1 person per room ( junior suite ) and we will have to pay extra for the 2nd person . we showed them all the booking documents , current hotel tariff rates as on date , receipts etc and that we paid the money 6 months ago . but he refused to listen , was quite impolite and said we have to pay additional . We asked for the supervisor and a lady Karen showed up who was even more rude and refused to listen and asked us to provide our credit card and they will bill the additional amount on that ! This was indeed a rude shock to us as we had already made the full payment 6 months ago and had a confirmed reservation in hand . We then asked for the manager and one Mr Alonso turned up who was equally cold and uncooperative . He said he can not do anything till we pay up the additional amount by credit card . This happened for 2 hours and no one even cared to offer a glass of water let alone offer a welcome drink . we told them that why are you harassing us for no fault of us and it was there system's fault !!! but no-one paid any attention not was there a word of apology !!! By this time we were so tired that we gave our credit card to charge the additional amount and went to our rooms . Rooms ( we had booked a junior suite ) are quite average , below expectations , common areas were stuffy with no air circulation , buffet dinner was like a jungle area with half of the counters not manned . Next day was even worse .while we were quietly enjoying our drinks , the supervisor karen turned up again and told us very rudely to come with her immediately and sign the credit card slip for the additional payment . we told her that let us finish our dinner and you already have our credit card holding . Once we have finished our dinner , we will come and sign the slip ( which still was so unfair to us ) . On this , she sent her manger Alonso who came and threatened us that if we do not sign up now , he will block entry to our rooms !!!! By this time we had become so tired , frustrated , amazed at the unhospitable attitude of a hospitality hotel that we just signed the slip . All I can say is that we were cheated , behaved with badly and it ruined our short holiday in Cancun which we have now cut off from our list ! I hope our officials will take note of this as to how badly we were treated in Cancun ar Royalton Chic even after making full payment 6 months in advance and how harassed we felt !! Good bye Mr. Royalton Chic. you can only cheat us once and shame on you and your managing staff .

ZERO OUT OF TEN…do NOT recommend!! I have NEVER written a Trip Advisor review until this trip! HORRIBLE experience. I am writing to express my deep disappointment with the level of customer service I received during my recent stay at Royalton Chic CANCUN, in March 2025. The treatment I experienced was not only frustrating but borderline racist, and it significantly impacted my enjoyment of the resort. Upon arrival there was a live crawling bug in my room. They came by and cleaned the room offered points. That was my sign to LEAVE! Everything is extra! You can’t even get an iron for your clothes. Front Desk Manager Daniel and the beach waitress Dulce: The front desk manager was rude and unhelpful, showing no regard for professionalism or customer satisfaction. I felt dismissed and disrespected when trying to address issues during check-in, and their behavior was completely uncalled for. He had me call Marriott customer services with full knowledge that they couldn’t help me until I checked out. HORRIBLE! Cancun is not for me. This is the second bad experience I’ve had here and I won’t be returning. Beach Service Staff: The beach service staff was also disappointing. The level of service was abysmal, with a complete lack of attention to guests’ needs. I would rate their customer service as 0/10, as they were unresponsive and indifferent to our requests. I chose Royalton CHIC expecting a welcoming and professional experience, but instead, I encountered poor service that was both frustrating and uncomfortable. I believe this issue needs to be addressed promptly to ensure future guests do not experience the same. I would appreciate a response addressing these concerns and steps being taken to improve the guest experience at your resort.
