RIU Santa Fe
Overall the RIU Santa Fe is a very nice, clean resort. The rooms are large and they have modern washrooms. Housekeeping did a good job. We have visited several RIU hotels in the past but were disappointed with the direction now taken by this chain. They have now focused all their resources on promoting their loud, wild "RIU Parties" held 4 times per week. I assume this is to attract a younger demographic to the hotel. The property is very large so there is a lot of walking. There are no golf carts to assist with the movement of guests or luggage. It is at least a one half kilometre walk from the reception to the beach area or buildings closest to the beach. The buildings are all 3 or 4 stories and the majority of them do not have elevators. They do not have bar service around the pools, theatre, sports bar or inner courtyard. If you want a drink you must get your own at the bar. The drinks were all very good. There is smoking of everything, everywhere. The only place that we didn't notice anyone smoking was at the indoor restaurants. The food was good with a good variety. There are 5 a la carte restaurants. No reservations required. No dress codes enforced. Two of them are buffets. Their entertainment team was weak at best. Most of their time was spent at the RIU parties. No interaction with guests unless it was to promote the parties. Most only spoke with guests that were Spanish speaking. Advertisement of activities, services, and restaurant info had to be found on the RIU app as there is very little signage throughout the resort. Yet, they had continuous in your face advertisements of the RIU parties everywhere, all day long. The staff working there was efficient but not overly friendly. It is our opinion that hotels on the mainland of Mexico were much more welcoming.

Ignore the Negative Reviews - It was EXCELLENT!
I was worried coming into my trip because I had dug deep into reviews and read about loud parties, crazy drunk people, and overall negativity. Maybe it was good because I couldn't have been more pleasantly surprised. The property was stunning. The rooms were absolutely amazing. My child was begging to go to the kids club daily because it was so much fun. We loved all of the pools. The staff was friendly and helpful. Sure, it wasn't the most gourmet food I've ever had but downtown has some amazing restaurants and is a $5 uber away. Otherwise, it was fine. Everyone could always find something they liked. Certainly no where close to the worst all inclusive food I've had. Plenty of variety. I do think the booze was watered down because when I did go to town and have a drink I could feel the difference. We were in building 8 at the far end and couldn't hear the RIU parties at all even though they were definitely loud. We'd have a different experience I'm sure if we were in a surrounding building. I did hear some people yelling and being crazy late at night but I'm a very light sleeper, my husband and kiddo weren't bothered at all. All in all - 100% I will be back.

Avoidddd this hotel and take your money to any other hotel
No value for money Watered alcohol, cold and stale food with no taste. This is like eating Chinese buffet . There is no information available and staff guiding anything. Use the fre cancellation policy and get your money back . Cancelling will be the best decision you will take rather than stay and waste your dollars
