Feb 04, 2025NO AIRCON. Avoid.
We had no air con in this hotel for 6 days. Kept being fobbed off no TV either, fobbed off with this also. One member of staff when I went to customer service desk rolled her eyes. The staff must be sick to death of these complaints. The beach is stunning one of the best we have been to. The food is OK. Entertainment OK. After 11 o'clock there's not much going on. The sports bar was a major disappointment as there is no bar just one beer pump. We would Never go back to this hotel.

Feb 03, 2025Another fun stay but...
This was our fifth stay at the RPTB and won't be our last. Hotel is always clean, drinks are cold, and the staff is the real reason we keep coming back. Negative of this trip is that the AC did not work for the first five days of our week long stay. I feel a resort chain as big as the Riu should always have extra parts or a back up plan so as to never be without air for an extended time. It wasn't enough to ruin our vacation but sleeping was not easy when the rooms were hot, humid, and musty. Reading reviews, it seems this has been a reoccurring issue over the past year or so. Now the good. The beach is one of the best you'll find anywhere in the world and the resort is always very clean. The staff is the true gem of this resort. Just a few of the people that stood out are Sharon and Indeera at the lobby bar, Bevin and Romaine at the plaza bar, Andrew at the pool bar, Williams, Olecia, Cia, and Damion at the buffet for breakfast and dinner and Captain Crazy in the evenings. Advance, Diamond and the entertainment team made our stay fun, although we did miss our fav Spotlight. Everyone from the servers, front desk, housekeeping, and grounds crew were friendly and fantastic. Already planning our next visit (hopefully the get the AC issues worked out). This is truly our home away from home.

Beautiful Beach, friendly staff!
Check in was easy, friendly staff. Room 4217 ocean view was perfect location, close to everything, great view. (AC was hit and miss, our room did smell musty and AC struggled but we didn't want to change rooms) Food was really good, Jerk Chicken, each nightly restaurant, service was great everywhere. Mainly hung out on the beach, perfection. Easy to find a chair in the morning. You can walk easily on the beach and in the water. No weeds, hardly any waves. Coffee bar was awesome. Staff everywhere and service was excellent. Our only complaint was the nightly entertainment just wasn't for us and there was really no where else to go hang out, would be nice to have a sports bar or some light music in the lobby area. Other than that we loved it!

Feb 02, 2025Paradise in Jamaica with Dee & Mags
The resort was always kept clean and tidy with the staff going above and beyond to help . The room was large and airy we had no problems with the air con , and had a side sea view of the sea which was a bonus . Food was plentiful and a great variety each day We especially loved breakfast . The sports bar was open 24/7 with burgers ,hot dogs chilli ,sandwiches and cakes always fresh and available . The beach was to die for we spent most of our time on the beach , yes there were sellers going up and down but over 2 weeks you got to know them and they just moved on if you were polite . We did love Trevor the cigarette seller you’ll hear him and know what we mean . We changed money in the reception for smaller bills for tipping , but it was our choice to tip and you really don’t need to . The taxi service at reception was fast and reliable with the driver even waiting whilst we were shopping which felt safe . We did 2 trips the glass bottom boat which was brilliant and a TUI trip to Appleton Estate , YS falls and Pellican bar full day and worth every penny , included breakfast and lunch . We walked down the beach to the Office of Nature a fantastic bar with live music every day that was our favourite spot in the shade sipping Red stripe meeting new friends . We had no problem with mosquitos the hotel sprayed every night at 17;30 . We loved the Jerk chicken shack, open everyday for lunch right on the beach . The waiter service on the beach was great with mention to Gregory our waiter who kept the Prosecco and cocktails flowing all day . The sunset on the beach was spectacular worth staying on the beach to see. The only downside was the size of the pools they are very small compared to other Riu Palaces we have visited , the pool bar was always very crowded with large groups of very noisy Americans , so we gave that a miss.

Great service
I was pleasantly surprised by the daily attentive service from all the staff at this resort. The food was great and plentiful including the jerk hut on the beach.
