    Such a great RIU!

This is my second time staying at a Riu in Punta Cana. I spent a week there with my friends (21-22 yrs) and I have nothing bad to say about the resort. The front desk staff was extremely helpful, especially Wellington. The bar service my friends and I received from Yajany was also excellent as she was always very nice and welcoming. As well as the ladies who worked behind the counter at the pastry section. Our room was nice and clean once we arrived and whenever we requested for it to be cleaned it was done very well. We did not have the nicest view of the room but nonetheless, the room was still nice. Service throughout the resort was exceptional. There was always staff ready to take your order or top up your drinks. We tried almost all of the restaurants and I would recommend the Italian restaurant. They had really good buffet options. I would say the buffet options were nice as well. I would have to say my favorite meal buffets were breakfast and lunch. SO good! Another plus to this hotel is that it is very close walking distance to the RIU pool parties. As far as the crowd, I will say it varies from young adults with children to older adults. If you're looking for a more lively resort with a younger crowd, go with Riu Bambu or Riu Republica. Your trip is what you make it and this is definitely a trip that was high up on my list.

Amazing holiday, even more amazing staff

We are currently staying at the hotel (now on day 6). Before coming I was really worried as the reviews had gone done a lot. Now after staying here for 6 days I am shocked by the 1 star reviews, and can’t imagine it even being the same hotel. I am writing a review half way through my stay to reassure people, as I myself was looking to change hotel before I came. The service is amazing, barely finishing my drink before they are taking my order for the next. At breakfast they are always topping up our drinks and Arias is always getting us more smoothies (even when I offer to do it myself!). Food is lovely. We haven’t really had any issue with getting a table at the restaurants. If there is a wait they give you a buzzer and you wait at the evening entertainment and bar. The garden, beach and pool areas are lovely and super clean. Our room is very spacious, and cleaned everyday. Plenty of sun beds (haven’t had any issues with broken sun beds). The entertainment during the day is fun and gets everyone involved. Water sports are good, we have done kayaking and hobbie cat (would recommend booking the day before). Overall the staff are beyond amazing and the facilities are brilliant. I will write a review at the end of my stay, but can’t see my opinion changing.

    Awesome time

We had an amazing time @ Riu palace Punta Cana. Beautiful resort , great hospitality, amazing views. We went for spring break with our 10 y old twins and our friends , 13 total and had a blast.the beach is stunning and beautiful. Plenty of chairs under the palm trees. You just have to go earlier to grab a seat as it gets full pretty fast. Service was a bit slow but expected since it was completely full/sold out for spring break, but we did have an amazing experience due to a few that stood out. Rosemary was amazing accommodating all our needs . From our restaurants reservations, to the room upgrades, scheduling activities and covid tests to come back, she was always quick and helpful with every single request we had. Paco at the buffet was always happy accommodating our lager group all the time and Ariel serving and getting us the drinks by the volleyball pool. We had an amazing time ans will def come back

Fantastic hotel one of the best we’ve been too!!

We are currently staying at the Riu Palace Punta Cana. Having read the reviews over the last couple of weeks, we almost changed hotel. All I can say is thank gosh we didn’t !!! This hotel is outstanding, the food for me is absolutely top notch and blows my mind that the A La Carte restaurants are consistently slammed because we have had absolutely stunning meals especially in the Krystal restaurant. Grounds are beautiful, well kept and the staff make this hotel such a lovely atmosphere. Vibe is awesome, you will not regret coming here! Currently 11:30am and I can see plenty of (working) sun beds available on beach and pool. Been served multiple times from my sun bed this morning, but the bar is only a short walk away with energetic and friendly staff! 5 ⭐️!! Also recommend the pool party it’s a brilliant laugh! 👍🏼 4 days left … wishing we booked to stay longer!

    Fabulous!

My husband, our 19 year old daughter & I have just returned home after enjoying 2 wonderful weeks holiday in the Riu Palace Punta Cana, in the Dominican Republic. In short, the immaculate resort, gorgeous beach, superb staff throughout, excellent entertainment day & night alongside the high quality and diversity of food & drink available all contributed to make our holiday absolutely fabulous from the minute we entered the opulent lobby to our departure. We have travelled extensively worldwide & as Riu members have stayed in numerous Riu resorts but we all agree the Riu Palace Punta Cana was one of the best. If helpful, I have provided a little more detail below: Resort - an immaculate, bright, well-maintained resort with 3 pools including 1 swim-up bar, buffet & speciality restaurants, several bars, coffee bar and shops set on a gorgeous beach. The paved walkway from the main hotel area to the pools/beach alongside gorgeous fountains & immaculate garden areas is beautiful & what helps, I believe, set this resort above the other neighbouring Riu resorts. Beach - the resort is situated on a gorgeous sandy beach from where you can walk for miles either direction. There are a vast number of sunbeds set underneath the palm trees and these provide a welcome retreat to bask in the hot sunshine with a slight breeze from the stunning waters. During our last few days there was an increase in seaweed, a problem throughout the Caribbean in recent years but the resort works hard during the night to try to address the issue. It did not however prevent walking on the beach or swimming in the sea, not unlike previous experiences in other Caribbean islands. Restaurants - We enjoyed breakfast & dinner in the main La Isobela buffet restaurant. The quality & variety of food available catered for all our needs/wishes & beyond so we never felt a desire to visit the speciality restaurants. Furthermore, the staff were so attentive & friendly, a big thanks must go to Esteban, Rubie Linares & Ray. It happened to be my birthday while we were there & they surprised me at dinner with a decorated table, birthday cake & singing of Felices Compleanos! At lunch time we frequented the pool area BBQ & buffet restaurant La Altagracia which again served a wide variety of food & beverages with a gorgeous view of the beach & palm trees. What more could you ask for! Entertainment - Day & night the entertainment team worked hard to engage holiday-makers & provide a range of entertainment for all ages including games & dancing etc. The Riu Fit team, a big shout out to Hadre (Jadre) & Beba, took stretching, fitness & Zumba classes daily which were fun & hard work lol! At night there were various shows, singers & groups etc outside in the open air plaza where you could enjoy drinks served from the El Rosario bar by the wonderful waiting staff. Inside the stunning lobby a talented piano player often provided entertainment in the early evening. The 24/7 sports bar always had hot food, fruit & snacks available & the opportunity to catch upon some sport on the numerous screens throughout. Riu Pool Parties - we decided to try out a few of the themed Riu pool parties, just 5 minutes walk from the resort, held 4 times per week ( twice 3-7pm & twice 7-11pm) which were open to over 18s staying at the Riu resorts nearby. While we would not fall into the typical 'club' group we had such fun. All age groups were there. These parties were an added form of optional entertainment & included in your All Inclusive! Pools - there are 3 gorgeous pools to choose from, all kept spotless & well tended by the pool/towels staff. A big thanks to Willan & Orlando! We stayed by the swim up bar pool due to its handy location to all the necessary amenities. Rooms - we stayed in 0133, a junior suite superior room which was very spacious & adequately accommodated 3 adults. It had a large bathroom, rain shower & double sinks. There was a large balcony looking onto the fountains & well stocked fridge & full optics. It was well cleaned daily & fresh towels replenished. Now to one of the biggest assets of this resort the STAFF - during the day by the pool, we had the pleasure of being well looked after by the friendly & attentive waiting staff who worked constantly in the sweltering heat to ensure you never went without, whether it was ice cold water to delicious coffee or cocktails! Most days, once the pools closed the same staff then moved to work in the evenings in the other bar areas. A particular mention must go to Alexander, Kendy, Wilson, Marcus, Santana & Yasmin. I have already mentioned the wonderful staff in the restaurants. Furthermore, the exceptional staff ranged from the welcoming staff at the reception, housekeeping staff & even the lovely ladies who constantly cleaned the restrooms. I never got her name but a particular mention must go to the 'singing' lady who even decorated the ladies restroom by La Altagracia with flowers & towel decorations. We are already planning our return trip!
