Hope I can return, I loved it!
Spring Break Trip with my 19yo daughter. Beach-BEAUTIFUL, no shells & sand is deep & so soft! Fun watching the cruise ships come & go. Staff for chair & umbrella set up. Have to get your own drinks when at the beach. Weather sure changes your day at the beach -Calm with no wind: Hot in the chair!!! Wish I had a floaty to float, water temp was perfect, calm & so clear. I found the excursion peddlers funny! Hired one to jet ski us to swim with the pigs. -Windy: Perfect in the chair, kept cool. Waves were huge!!! Never went in the water but my daughter jumped in a few times. Not many peddlers out on windy days. Hotel-Very nice, clean Room-Clean, stocked with water, soft drinks & 4 types of alcohol. Shower-awesome water pressure! Balcony had a pretty view of the beach! Food-Excellent!! Loved the buffet, had lots of options. Burgers, hot dogs & jerk chicken served pool side for lunch. App-was able to get reservations for 2 of the restaurants. The Japanese restaurant does not have the chef who cooks in front of you. We opted to hit the buffet. Steak restaurant, very good! Location-15 mins to walk to Atlantis. $10 taxi. Went 3 times to check out the casino, aquarium, sharks, stores & marina. Pools- Never went in them but they were beautiful! If I was with my husband & friends, we'd spend most our time at the pool bar! Never had to wait for drinks, service was fast Shopping-20 minute taxi ride. $20 there $22 back. Stores open at 10, close at 5. Vacant hotel next to the pool-Not pretty to look at from your balcony! There is no construction now but when the property sells, I'm guessing it'll be a hot mess & loud!

Very nice, small resort with great food.
I traveled with my young adult daughters and overall we were very pleased with our stay. We really enjoyed not having to walk so far to go to eat or go to the pool like with larger resorts, i.e. we could wear cuter shoes. The food was great - lots of variety, fresh, and delicious. Our room - we choose the "family suite" since there were 3 of us, however it only had 1 king bed and a couch. The couch did not pull out into a bed and was not long enough to sleep comfortably on. We all loved the rain shower head. We also loved the double balcony with ocean view, however some of our view was the top of a roof. We had some trouble with the bathroom door as it kept locking us in. Room was stocked with booze, soda, water and beer. I left notes for the re-supply person so they knew to supply us with what we preferred. Overall the room was clean, spacious, quiet and a comfortable temperature. Location - beach was great. You can walk for long distances. I think it may be cheaper and faster to just take a taxi or uber from the airport instead of shuttle offered. It took us 1.5 hours to get to the hotel from the airport because they dropped off so many people at other hotels before us. Service - front desk and maids were very helpful. Restaurant servers and hosts were excellent. The pool bartenders sometimes took their time acknowledging we were there and rarely said thank you for a tip. Pool cocktail waitresses were unreliable. There were no waitresses that came down to the beach, but it was a short walk up the steps to the pool bar.

Rui Hotel
Disappointed there was not more activity area. Bathrooms so far away from activities. Same dancing shows with different music each night. Food was good except I am gluten intolerant, and you did not really accommodate that. Staff was wonderful Daphne at front desk helpful. Just would have liked more bars than 1 indoor and 1 outdoor.

Not the usual great Riu experience
The staff and customer service were great. The rooms were pretty clean. The buffet food was excellent. The view from my room was absolutely perfect - I could see the pools and the ocean. The entertainment shows each night were ok and clearly took tons of practice and coordination which was appreciated. The one thing I look forward to at a Riu resort is the engaging entertainment, games, and dancing at the pool all afternoon. It is usually a guaranteed good time and is typically the highlight of the Riu experience. I was disappointed that pool activities only happened one day during our stay from Wed thru Sunday, despite the calendar reflecting planned games everyday. Everything else was great, but the lack of pool activities is the reason I would not recommend this Riu to someone looking for a fun time. For anyone that wants peace and quiet instead of fun games and parties then this is the Riu for you.

Excellent service but somewhat outdated hotel
The hotel staff is very good, very friendly. The food and alcohol are very good to be all inclusive. My only criticism is that the hotel needs a renovation because it looks old and a little sloppy. It is also highly recommended and would definitely return
