Feb 25, 2025A Vacation to Remember
I truly have nothing bad to say about this resort or our stay. My wife and I just got back from a 7 day all inclusive stay at the Riu Palace Kukulkan and we both had an amazing time there and were sad to leave which is not usually the case. The place is new, very clean, awesome staff and service, the house keepers always did a little something extra for us when they made over the room as it was our anniversary. The food was great, specially the buffet, the a la carte restaurants are not 5 star dining but pretty decent, the pools are well maintained and between the 3 pools, there's something for everyone. Weather you want to be the fun pool with all the water sports and activities, or the pool with the swim-up bar which nobody seems to ever step out of, or the chillax pool if you rather more peace and quiet. The beach is absolutely stunning, not what you would expect in Cancun. Truly a gem. The location is spectacular, only 10 mins from the airport, across the street from the mall (La Isla Cancún) and 10 min cab ride to all the Cancun nightlife if you want to venture out. 3 Times a week they have themed parties at the other Riu resort which you have full access to and even a free shuttle, we decided to not go and stay at our resort as we were really enjoying ourselves there and not really there to party, The gym is small but decent, we started our days with a workout which made our stay more enjoyable. We have gone to much higher end resorts in the past that costed a lot more but we found them boring and restrictive, so we wanted to try something more mainstream and fun. The fact that it was adults only was the main factor for us as we have no kids and we did not want to be around any. The guests there were all lovely and more mature and classy, We made so many friends that we never through we would. Overall we had a great time and plan to definitely go back.

It is a lovely property with nice beach front and plenty of chairs and umbrellas whenever you need to sit on the clean soft sand beach. Very clean place from common areas to your room. Service is also excellent. Plenty of restaurant options with little to no wait times. Food was average at best. But we new that coming in and just wanted some simple no hassle down time. This is an adults only resort. However at times a few "adults" were quite drunk and offensive. Had to move away or go upstairs and call it quits.

Second time visiting
The Riu Palace Kukulkan was perfect for a couples get away & anniversary celebration. Second time visiting this property. Rooms are perfect. Just make sure you get your king size bed at check-in. Service, food and pools were all great!

Generally pleased
This is our second stay at this facility. I have to say that the hotel itself has a great location . The beach is very nice. The staff is always cleaning and moping the common areas - very clean. The food is average - but we are not "foodies" and had no complaints. My only complaint is that (for the second time in 2 years) they did not have our correct room category when we checked in. We had to move rooms the next day. This is very annoying - because you have to re-pack and take time out of your day to go down and check out- and re-check in. I booked this vacation 6 months ahead of time - so I have no idea why they never seem to have the correct room when I arrive.

Awesome property & fantastic staff
We loved our 8 day stay. The location, property and amenities are amazing. The entire staff was incredibly hardworking, polite and kind. There are 3 different pools + the elite pool. You can find plenty of loungers in the sun or shade. You can see the ocean from all the pools! I wish there was another bathroom by the pools. The breakfast buffet was very good with a large variety & delicious fruit. The lunch buffet was okay (again a large variety) but the heat lamps cause food to be overcooked. We really liked the Asian and Steakhouse restaurants at night. Pepe’s had good hot dogs and hamburgers. I was pleasantly surprised at the drink selection and my picky husband even found beers he liked. We felt very safe at the resort and walked to the huge mall one afternoon. We took a Catamaran to Isla Mujeres one day which was really fun. I also enjoyed a fabulous massage at the spa by Irasema and a pedicure. We really enjoyed the night entertainment, especially the silent disco, ABBA production and Rock Is Not Dead. We didn’t do the Elite Club as we already had an ocean view room and didn’t regret our decision. There were police patrolling the beach which we really appreciated and it kept the peddlers away. There were a few, but they stayed on the beach and weren’t pushy at all. We would definitely stay here again!
