    Very good stay!

The hotel was nice and probably more so because it’s still pretty new. The facilities were nice. The food was good. The beds could have been a lot more comfortable. The beach could’ve been cleaned a little more there could’ve been more activities, especially for teenagers. The staff was amazing. The partial ocean view was weird Because looking to the right there was ocean but looking straight ahead was a gravel parking lot. There isn’t much around the hotel so you need to travel a little ways to get to anywhere else. The beach gets nicer the further you travel it. The shows were the best that I have ever seen at any resort in any place. The restaurants are nice. The jerk pork at the grill by the pool is the best thing in the Caribbean!!!

    RIU Aquarelle

Great hotel, with fantastic, hard working staff, would definitely return. An area which needs to be looked at by the hotel is the food wastage, I never seen plates piled so high by people with eyes bigger than their bellies! - such a shame really. The beach is nice. but its really rocking when you step into the sea and as you cannot see the sea bed so risk of injury.

❤️Lovey family get away❤️- just a few things to look out for

The RIU Palace Aquarelle was beautiful. I really liked the scenery and the tropical climate. We had a couple of days of heavy tropical rain but it didn’t matter that it happened because the RIU fun staff put on quizzes and kids games inside the entertainment room. A fun chance to win prizes! The pools were nice with a not-too-warm not-too-cold temperature and the staff were friendly and gave the kids and grown-ups fist bumps and high-fives. Food in the buffet was nice but it could do with mix of foods a few days a week so that people aren’t eating the same thing everyday. The hotel has a nice variety of themed restraints that only serve dinner such as the Italian, the Asian and the steakhouse. My favourite restraint was the Italian with a small buffet for starters and desserts. The entertainment was better some nights than others but all my family liked the Michael Jackson night the most. The outfits were lovely and the dancing was amazing and talented. In the bar, if you order from a waiter or waitress walking around taking orders, the drinks take longer than expected to arrive than if you order them directly from the counter but the drinks are still good either way. The beach is nice but there are lots of tiny shells bits on the sand that could hurt your feet if you aren’t wearing shoes and in the sea, there are quite a lot of rocks in the water but the sea is still warmer than the pool, in my opinion. One of the main things you should look out for are the rooms. Some of the rooms have smaller beds than you would expect in a 5 star resort. We got one of the family rooms with two small double beds but it was all sorted the next day. We talked to the receptionist about it and they said since they are one of the new RIU resorts, they don’t have every room with a king bed so just keep that in mind but it didn’t matter to much because we got a room switch the next day to a room with a better view and a king bed for the parents and a sofa bed for the kids. Other than that, all the rooms were very clean and big with wide balcony’s and spacious bathrooms and mini bars and air conditioners with a ceiling fan as well. I would definitely come back to this hotel next year despite the long flight and the couple of downsides because I got back home yesterday and I had a fabulous family holiday. Definitely recommend!

My stay was pleasant and would have been better if my TV was tuned on during the nights ( time I was in my room) we called for some help once to show how to setup the TV but noone came during our time in the room

Great Fun family hotel but not without some faults

Just back from 2 weeks at the RIU Aquarelle as a family of 4 with two kids aged 9 and 6. Thought it may be useful to families considering staying here to get a quick overview. Overall, I would say it’s a very good hotel but not without its faults. The positives - Entertainment team the best I’ve seen and I’ve been to many hotels and similar set up hotels, they were amazing all day and everyday. The daytime team and evening team were amazing and the Michael Jackson performance was brilliant. - Kids club was again the best I’ve experienced and my son Alexander loved it, particularly Smiley! They work so hard and make it fun for the kids and makes them want to go there, rather than parents forcing them! 😂 Evening kids entertainment was always fun too - Staff, they are always helpful, polite, fun and full of energy, particularly bar staff at the Kingston pool. Yes a tip can help but never felt forced in any way. - Hotel was always being cleaned all the time from the ceilings to the windows and floor. It’s very well maintained. Food, the buffet was one of the best AI buffets I’ve had. Always had options for everyone and often has fresh sushi and lobster. The restaurants are pretty good too and the set up made you feel like you were in a restaurant somewhere Drinks were excellent and lots of options and even decent brands of spirits. You won’t go thirsty here! Pools were good but busy, particularly if you have kids as there is really only one option. Would be good to have a larger pool for swimming etc but there was always something going on to entertain you and the kids. There was a great atmosphere by the pool. Some negatives: - No water pressure in our room 4 out of 10 days. I don’t think that’s acceptable as it’s a 5* star hotel and should always have running water! That would potentially put me off coming back as I literally had a trickle of water. Not great really . - rooms often not cleaned until late in the day, which with kids wasn’t great. We had a few days where we had no towels to have showers at 5pm having left the room at 8am. I thought that was quite odd and should really be sorted by that time. It’s a minor thing but something that can be easily improved. - Bar across the road having loud parties until 4am, often on Saturdays. Literally like being in a night club in your room, it’s not an exaggeration either! Overall it was a great 2 weeks and one of my favourite All inclusive type holidays and I would certainly consider coming back once the water issues are fixed! If you have booked to come here then I think you will have a great time. Well done RIU.
