Average Resort, needs updating
We went with a group of us and 3 other families, there were some highs and lows. I usually like a hotel with more stars especially in Mexico where I find they are a bit inflated but it wasn't my call. Good: Food was decent! Wasn't expecting that as I usually can barely eat at all inclusives. I should say the buffets were decent, yes of course it repeats and gets old but ample choices and some things were way better than expected. Like usually the deserts all taste the same - here you got some that actually tasted like they were supposed to. Staff were all so nice and helpful, room was clean. Grounds were super clean and they take pride in them. Riu is sort of a party resort (but family focused too) so they did a good job entertaining us at the pool and in the evenings in the outdoor stage. One of the highlights for a coffee drinker like me was the espresso machines in the Chinese food buffet and the beach snack bar and the coffee bar at the Sports Bar. Yum. Cost: Decent cost. Service: when I needed water and when my sink clogged - they were there in minutes to help. Hotel transfers were good (we booked directly with the hotel) look for a guy in a GRAYLINE vest/jacket if you are looking for your transfer. Ok now the not-so-good The A la carte steak house was dark and the waiter pretty much hated us from the get go, starters were nearly inedible, but the mains were ok. Desert was gross. Alcoholic Drinks were yuck, I don't drink a ton but these were overly sweet and yet watered down at the same time. Rooms are oldddd and sorta depressing. The chairs on the balcony were cheap white plastic chairs, the chairs by the pool are gross old loungers. Air conditioning barely works. Pool: I am seriously surpised I didn't leave with a UTI. The pools were not clean enough , hair balls floating around, I saw a bandaid, and one day a kid pooed in the pool. Had to not think about it to even go in the pool. It's also totally falling apart, tiles just floating and falling off. I don't think it's lack of trying to keep it clean, I think its an old system. KIDS WATER PARK: Cute but super old, all of it works still though and my kid had lots of fun. Overall: 3/5 but they are set to renovate this year so hopefully it improves!

Amazing experience for our first ever family vacation!
We went as a family of 4 with our kids 6 and 11 years old. Everything was so clean and organised! All the food exceeded our expectations. I would say tho that the Asian restaurant was our least favourite. Italian one was our favourite! The steak and blue cheese sauce was delicious! We booked a family room and form the picture on the website we were expecting bunk beds. Instead we learned there was 3 types of family rooms. We got one with two queens pushed together and a fold out mini couch. We made it work and actually slept really well. We loved the entertainment every night. All the shows were really well thought out and organized. Be prepared tho, if your room faces the stage you will hear it clearly from the inside. Until 10:45pm every night. The hotel grounds were stunning! Especially loved the water fountain and feature in the middle.

From check in to checkout , everything was great. The food in the buffet was excellent. The Jalisco resort was very clean and the staff were wonderful.

Riu Jalisco Stay
Would highly recommend this hotel. Food was excellent, kids programming was amazing, overall really clean and high quality The only downfall was that, travelling with small children, bedtime was early for us. However, the evening entertainment was quite loud in our bedroom when trying to sleep. They were so tired from all the swimming it did not stop them sleeping, but made it hard for the adults to fall asleep!

Beautiful getaway
I have never stayed in such a clean resort before! Everyone was constantly cleaning, mopping, doing the grounds, etc. Such attention to detail was amazing! The resort itself was so beautiful! The pools were great and lots of bars and choices of restaurants. The entertainment at night was good as well. We had a great time and would definitely return!
