Came down for graduation trip for our son. We have always stayed at Riu in the past and will continue. Staff were above and beyond helping. Always good food and entertainment. Great job Riu staff...

Had a lovely time spent with family. Rooms spotlessly clean, loved the upgrade to sea view. Had an issue with safe twice and the electrics, but sorted in the end. Only problem we have that when going to Riu hotels with family they never make up beds for children and we always have to chase extra beds and ask for them making. They know we are arriving, can’t understand why we have to chase beds and get them ready

Beautiful spot for a family vacation!
Riu Dunamar is a stunning resort! Took our first big family vacation with our 2 kids (8&11). The entertainment was top notch and the entertainment crew work tirelessly all day and evening to ensure guests are having fun! The white party was out of this world fun! Rooms are nice, nothing spectacular and the shower set up was strange but we knew that going in but for the time we spent in our room - we didn’t need anything luxurious and the housekeeping staff were stellar. We needed a few things here and there and the service was quick and friendly - even supplied us with a cot when we asked for one for our 11 year old because we will warn the beds are very small and found it too crowded for an adult and a pre-teen! They always did the beds up nicely and arranged my youngest’s stuffies every day which he got a kick out of! I will say bring a sound machine! The resort is loud but our sound machine drowned out pretty much all noise! We were on the 4th floor and there is only one elevator so the trek to the room was a lot but plenty of stairs cases around as well! The service staff are phenomenal and always happy to help! Truly some of the kindest people! We always made sure to tip well when the service was as excellent as it was! Food was okay. We did find it repetitive and the fancier restaurants were okay, but there was always choices at the buffet and breakfast was always great! If travelling with kids I just suggest to pack snacks for the hotel room as the gift shop is expensive! Pools are all very well maintained and clean and the grounds are impeccable! We can’t wait to return again one day!

A Great Resort
Clean, extremely wonderful staff, multiple pools and just 30 steps away from the beautiful beach. Food was good, but we returned to Riu Dunamer restaurant do to the menu selections and atmosphere. Morning meal is buffet, with a large assortment to satisfy pretty everyone. We never encountered a situation where the meal or beverage were listed as prime, meaning, this would cost additional. And the best part of all, this resort does not try to get you to join a membership (time-share). Other resorts in Cancun and Cabo ruin your stay by constantly begging you to go to a one hour "presentation". We did this - once - at 2 hours we stood up and said "don't bother me again". Yet, they did! I contacted Riu Dunamar and told them point blank - this hounding you to join a club would be a deal-breaker. They promised this was not the case, and they were correct. And what to avoid - we wanted to drift snorkel, but the non-hotel agents talked us into a 3 stop snorkel excursion. Great looking photos. A complete waste of $300 USD. No fish to be seen. This agent warned us repeatedly that booking elsewhere online was a huge risk. She claimed many fake websites - and told us that they don't accept anyone older than 60. I believe this was a farce - she just wanted commission. Please do know that this resort is more than an hour north of Cancun airport. Having been to Cancun several times, we saw no need to go into town for anything.
