Hotel overview

The Renaissance Cleveland is currently undergoing a full transformation. As we prepare for a new hotel and new brand in 2024, the lobby has been closed to the public and the front desk, bar and breakfast restaurant have been temporarily relocated to the first floor. Exterior scaffolding is present at the hotel entrance and construction noise is audible from 7am-5pm. The hotel remains in a great downtown Cleveland location with walking distance to shopping, dining, and top attractions like Progressive Field, Jack Casino, and Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse. We're also near the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, First Energy Stadium, and House of Blues.

Iconic historic downtown stay! Newly renovated too!

We love staying at the historic Marriott Autograph Collection- the iconic Hotel Cleveland. They have just completed a multi-million dollar renovation and it’s really beautiful. The hotel is across from the beautiful public square. The staff provides excellent service. Ana & Adam are excellent at getting you checked in and answering questions. The rooms and suites are very roomy with p Aveda amenities provided. Tiffany in housekeeping keeps your room spotless. All the chandeliers are original as is most of the marble and woodwork. There is a huge lobby and lounge/bar with many comfy seating options. The Resturant Mowrey’s offers delicious food and is a great place for a gourmet breakfast. David our friendly waiter was very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed to get our days off to a great start! He even recommended many places for us to visit that we didn’t know about. The entire staff there is excellent! The parking garage is close by in addition the valet is offered and is quick at getting your vehicle as well. We wouldn’t think of staying anywhere else!

    Fix the Elevators!

Second time staying here to give it a second chance. My summer visit was marred by non-working elevators and now my January visit was double marred but non-working elevators combined with a dance mom meeting and their gear taking up the working elevator space. Don’t stay here. The staff is fine. The lobby bar is worth a visit but the ELEVATORS will waste your time. I waited 20 minutes for an elevator this morning and I was lucky to get on it to leave. Valet: modernize your system where I can text you and my car is waiting. Every US hotel with valet service has this function.

    Majestic

Stepping back into the 1920’s. This hotel recently had a full ‘make over’ which beautifully preserved all historic elements in public spaces. You can disregard the old negative reviews. I loved my stay. The room was large, clean, bright and the mattress super comfortable. The hotel breakfast downstairs was amazing. Also amazing was the staff. Location is downtown and close to restaurants and bars. Right off a big square. Important for Parking: The garage is adjacent to the hotel and charges $41 overnight for self parking. If you drive anything larger than a full size car, please don’t drive up the tiny ‘corkscrew’ ramp. Pick up Trucks and large SUVs will not fit !!!! Instead insist to park on the first floor.

    Hotel Cleveland

I needed a hotel very near to the train that goes to the airport in downtown Cleveland. I was hesitant to stay at the Hotel Cleveland because of some past reviews complaining about construction noise. Fortunately, my stay was peaceful and I found the staff, especially Adam, to be helpful and kind. The location was perfect. They even had a door connecting the shopping center where the train station is directly into the hotel! I found outside was busy and seemed to be a transportation hub. There certainly were some homeless folks, but also plenty of security and a police presence. Beyond being asked for spare change, no one was aggressive or rude. It was easy to walk to nearly anything in the downtown area, and the large tower made finding my way back very easy. The hotel is historic and beautiful. The rooms seemed still new and the beds were very comfortable. I would stay there again.

    Remodeled Hotel Cleveland Very Surprising

We fly into town for Browns games and this was our first stay at this hotel, as I did not like the old Renaissance. Everything was sold out so we gave this a try. WOW. I honestly have no complaints other than the lighting is too low in the bedroom. It was a super busy Cle weekend with tons going on, playoffs, HoF, Browns & checkin was quick even tho line was long. Decor throughout hotel is beautiful and reminded me of nice historic European hotels I’ve been to. It’s decorated in teal, gold and crystal. I had read some complaints about narrow dark hallways and I thought the hallways were wider than modern hotels and no darker. Room was very nice and clean (our K was decent size) bed & linens were comfortable, nice bathroom with good lighting & rainfall shower with Aveda products. Lobby is beautiful with large bar, good service and menu. I also like (some may think it’s a pain) you can only enter off Superior, whic keeps it safer IMO. You can exit off Public Sq. Only minor cons were mini fridge & tv weren’t working; they weren’t plugged in & HDMI needed to be reset so I fixed it quickly, lighting is minimal in bedroom even in daytime, and we had a connecting room and could hear some noise from other room — not terrible I’ve had much worse. Definitely a much improved hotel with Autograph Collection style.
