    Heimlich and stolen purse

Stayed as a Marriott member, we enjoy the consistent quality of the chain. We often travel for our kids sports teams and go out of our way to stay at a Marriott. I was worried about the rooms cleanliness from previous posts. However I was able to secure an updated room, which was fine. Took kids to the indoor pool it was freezing on Friday, better temperatures on Saturday. Had room with views of the courtyard which was apparently better than my parents room which was closer to the road. They were woken up twice due to drag racing at 2 am. We had our fair share of loud residents during the middle of the first night. The following day had some young kids we caught after banging on the doors and running down the halls. Not necessarily Marriotts fault. The shuttle service is great but times are not precise. Ubers are cheap and quick for the area. Room service for towels was quick and polite. The last night of our stay my son choked on food at the restaurant and not one staff member checked in us. I gave him the Heimlich and he spit up on the floor. It was dramatic, he’s eight! A moment you never want to experience. Staff came and cleaned up the floor but our experience didn’t seem to be a big deal. No “hey are you okay?” Or “do you need anything?” Just seemed strange. Then at some point during our time in the restaurant my sister’s bag was stolen. I had to find the waitress after 20 minutes or so to finally get our check and boxes for food. Leave here feeling let down. I think it’s the area in general but there was certain lack of attention by staff that just doesn’t sit right with me.

Great hotel, close to downtown with great amenities and a shuttle

Staff were very friendly and appreciative. The bar attached to the lobby was nice - decent beer selection. The M Club was very nice and quiet. The breakfast, especially the omelets, was really good. The room (deluxe king) had really nice finishes and appeared to be recently updated. We did not use the pool or gym but both appeared to be really nice. I intend to visit in the summer because the outdoor pool, patio, and bar is a great setup but obviously not open in the winter. Also - the shuttle service into town (we went to Federal Hill and downtown) was super convenient; the driver was really friendly as well.

    Disappointing

First, I arrived at 3 pm and was told there would be a $10 up charge for early check in. No thanks. Never heard that before. I come back an hour later and they give me a room that feels a mile away. I get in the room and it smells super musty. Such outdated decor. Super disappointing given the room cost. So switch rooms. Now no kings available. I booked and this hotel instead of a boutique because I wanted space to work remotely comfortably. Anyway. Next room is at least updated/remodeled. But none of it is the way you want to start a trip.

    Terrible Hotel and arrogant staff

Terrible experience and extremely arrongant staff Bathrooms were clogged had to call service for that three times during our stay of three days. Sink was clogged. There was mould in the bathroom. There was no cleaning/housekeeping provided on day one and the staff had different stories when we provided feedback. They lied we had do not disturb on our door.thankfully I had picture to show that was not the case as they had lied before too. One member said we had to request the night before but no one gave us this information upon checkin. They were extremely arrogant. Then they sent someone to clean the room and there were two men who just came with sheets and gave us this look when we said the whole room had to be cleaned. The night duty staff at the front desk was simply terrible Bottom line even though the hotel was centrally located do not stay here it’s unhygienic and the staff is really disrespectful ; we have never experienced anything like this anywhere let alone a Marriott property after being a valued bonvoy member They should really refund our money as this hotel was not cheap

    Dirty and in Disrepair

    - Dirty bed linen that housekeeping is not changing - Dirty bath towels - Broken shower soap dispenser left hanging without fixing - Room service brought in paper box and plastic forks - 0 recognition of loyalty program status - If I wanted a hostel experience, I would have booked a hostel at a corresponding price
