A Five Star in Name Only
Five stars in name only. The quality of service and cleanliness do not compare to other five-star hotels or other Park Hyatt properties worldwide. As a Hyatt Globalist, I have accumulated numerous positive experiences globally. Regrettably, this property consistently fell short of expectations. Upon arrival, our arrival gift was a disappointing bowl of fruit that was visibly unclean and past its prime. Our rooms were severely neglected, with bodily fluid residues on bathroom walls, dust and pubic hair beneath the vanity tray, and crusty smudges throughout the room. In addition to the daily housekeeping issues, the furniture and carpets were stained and tattered. Front desk and valet service was virtually nonexistent. There was often no one available to assist with luggage, hail cabs, or other needs. The check-in process was protracted and inefficient, despite the absence of other guests checking in or out at the time. The breakfast buffet was merely adequate, and many of the servers exhibited surliness and lack of helpfulness. We were frequently seated at a table that had been used and left uncleaned, with opened and used condiments such as jams and jellies. I raised these concerns with management, who appeared responsive but failed to address them promptly. It took two days to remove a mysterious crusty substance from the water closet in our room. Their apparent strategy was to compensate for the shortcomings with discounts and complimentary night, which I find unimportant. I prioritize a clean room over free nights. The most concerning incident occurred on the final day, when we used the emergency exit from the lobby due to an elevator failure with guests stuck in between floors. To our astonishment, we discovered equipment being stored in the landings, obstructing egress in the event of an emergency. I promptly alerted management, but despite their immediate response, the obstructions remained when I checked back hours later. I firmly believe that this property does not meet the standards of a Park Hyatt and should seriously consider reclassifying as a lower brand to accurately convey the quality of amenities to guests. I strongly advise against staying here if you anticipate exceptional five-star service.

KING of NYC, b/c I stayed at Park Hyatt 10/10, highly recommend!
I’ve never felt totally at home in New York City, because of how busy it is compared to Western Colorado. However, upon this journey to New York, I can’t wait to go back because of the welcome and hospitality I received from Park Hyatt NYC. I wasn’t feeling well, they upgraded our room based off of my Hyatt global status, which is the best loyalty program in all of the hotel, and, full disclosure. I am a financial advisor and did the math. However, loyalty points. Don’t add up to what I received. We were upgraded to perhaps the best Sweet I’ve ever stayed in, and I don’t know how they treated me so kindly because I’m not royalty, but they made me feel like a king.

Personal touch
Kamil Ward assistant good & beverage manager is so friendly and kind. He adds the kind of personal touch that elevates your 5 star hotel experience. The amazing pool with high ceilings overlooking Carnegie Hall is exhilarating! This is definitely a must stay hotel to commemorate any visit to nyc

Faith restored as Customer Service has Dramatically improved
Last year I had posted a not so favorable review of PHNY specifically expressing my disappointment with how Hyatt Globalists were treated; However after learning that some management changes were implemented I decided to give it another try and stayed for 2 nights on early April and was absolutely delighted. The rooms are obviously as nice as ever and the bed ultra comfortable but the major change I noticed was a significant improvement in customer attention. I had booked a king bed with city views room with points but upon check-in was informed that I had been upgraded to a 1 Bedroom Suite; in my room a handwritten welcome note by Andrew Lewis (Director of Operations) was on the desk as well as a plate of fresh fruits and Evian both sparkling and still water. All my Hyatt benefits were proactively offered and honored including early check-in, late check-out (which I didn’t use but still was nice to be extended), daily water, complimentary wifi, etc. Even without the generous room upgrade I’d still be writing a positive review due to the fact that it is evident that the team is going the extra mile to make Hyatt loyalists feel valued; Mr. Lewis even went to my room to personally greet me and offer his assistance and he was very authentic. I also noticed the front desk team being more friendly and proactive towards other guests and even the bellmen team was more cheerful than ever. It’s great to notice that management takes their job seriously and are open to feedback and even more rewarding to notice that they take concrete actions based on guests’ feedback. Thank you Mr. Lewis for restoring my faith in Park Hyatt New York and congrats to the entire team. Most definitely I’ll return.

Modern and beautiful
Modern and beautiful. I had high expectations and this place did not disappoint. The Park Hyatt NY has a great location near Central Park and Columbus Circle. My room was spacious with comfortable beds and a nice bathroom. The real highlights were the facilities - the 25th floor gym is well-equipped with new machines and never crowded. The indoor pool next to it is fantastic - heated perfectly with relaxing music playing underwater. Staff were helpful but not overly fussy.
