    Lovely hotel but sewage issue

I love the Palms casino. It's a beautiful space and has excellent staff. We stayed in a King room in the Fantasy Tower. Again, beautiful hallways and room was sparkling clean. Then, around 3 pm the next day we heard a gurgling sound from the bathroom, then another, then something like an explosion of water from the bathroom. Then the smell of sewage hit us. We walked into the bathroom and saw all kinds of purple particulate in the sink, like an ink pen had exploded. The smell was god awful and unmistakably sewage. My toiletries were on the counter and I was certain they had been in the range of the sewage geyser. We called front desk and they said they would send an engineer up. We had to leave the room immediately the smell was so bad. We also explained to housekeeping what had happened. We returned that evening and the bathroom was sparkling clean, like nothing happened. So housekeeping saved the day! But there was no further response from management. No offer of any comps or discounts. That is the reason why I will sadly not stay here again. When something like that happens, amends need to be made financially. Period.

Good, but Michelle the waitress above all.

I had a wonderful morning breakfast at their Serano Vista Cafe, food was good but Michelle our waitress was above & beyond other employee there we intertwined with during our stay. Hardworking with a smile as an individual overall it made our stay at the Palms much better even after finding out about a few "mini bar" extras we didn’t use and this added $42 "resort fees/ plus tax total of $47 above the hotel room per day added cost, much easier to swallow.

Dirty rooms and rude, passive-aggressive bellhop

We went for the American Film Market and stayed a full week at the hotel. Our experience was mixed and I kind of hope they change hotels next year. We wouldn’t stay there again either way. The rooms were spacious, but not very clean. There was food or blood on the corner of our bed when we arrived and there was actual poop on the outside of our toilet—again, on arrival! 😱 One day, we came back to our room and found housekeeping had left the minibar open and left our trash bags outside the room. I had to call the desk as the minibar has some kind of sensor and I was worried they’d try charging us. Serrano Vista Cafe has great oat milk cappuccinos and avocado toast, but expect to pay Vegas prices, of course. Staff were friendly and helpful there though! Meanwhile, some hotel staff were super helpful and friendly too, while others were average, but then there was one bellhop who was shockingly rude and passive-aggressive, even going so far as to lie to us tonight about where our Uber driver would pick us up, trying to get us to carry our luggage across the hotel without a trolley. Thank god, I called the driver first. Living in Europe, we weren’t aware of certain tipping customs and didn’t even have many USD on us when we landed anyway. We had to look up the norms after we arrived. While we gave the bellhop what would’ve been a normal tip in Italy or the UK when we arrived, it was apparently less than recommended in Las Vegas. Upon leaving tonight, he commented about “remembering us,” while being extremely rude. The irony is that I tipped his colleagues this morning for the luggage storage (the morning bellhop was super lovely all week!) and I planned to leave the rest of my USD to him tonight ($20) when collecting the luggage. His appalling behavior meant I left him nothing and had a very happy Uber driver instead. If PCR reads this, whoever the head of your bell desk was at 5pm on 11/11/24, he needs a different line of work. Your morning guy though is ace—super smiley and kind!
