    Consistently Excellent

The Providence Omni is consistently a wonderful experience. The entire staff is accommodating and welcoming from the valet service, front desk and especially the baggage handler. Keep doing exactly what you’re doing it is clearly working !!!!

    Birthday celebration not so good

Well, few issues. Strong septic smell on the 12th floor. Room was warm and could not be lowered more than 68 degrees. Pillows all feather which were horrible. Not liking the heavy bed blankets. Will think again before returning. Nice atmosphere

Highway motel quality embarrasses the Omni

Decided to celebrate 10-year anniversary with a stay at Omni. Experience would have been totally acceptable at a Motel Six but embarrassed the Omni brand and made our special occasion feel diminished. I'm allergic to feathers and added a request for plain bedding which was totally ignored. Didn't occur to me Omni staff wouldn't bother to read it and spent my anniversary night coughing and sneezing. Sent a message through their system which was never returned. When I spoke to the front desk about it they fixed the problem but couldn't be bothered to apologize- they are clearly understaffed and poorly trained. Though not particularly busy, they placed us in a room opposite a loud ice maker in a room with strange stains on ceiling over the bed and on the armchair, peeling wallpaper in the bathroom, a light fixture that was stuck at a weird angle, and flaccid bathroom mirror. Again, understandable at a highway motel but not here. A slice of lemon or squash or something sat in the hallway for most of our stay. I had booked the Omni over an AirBnB because it advertised a pool. On check-in, the staff just shrugged and said there wasn't one- no explanation or alternative suggested- so I went to the gym. Glad I brought my own mat as the provided ones were dirty and worn. I don't think a hotel can be held responsible for its other guests but was a bit surprised when unattended children asked me to help spot them on the weight bench at the gym, which also had a hole punched in the wall- it appeared to have been there for some time. I suspect cleaning staff are also understaffed as they didn't show up until early evening when we had already returned to the room, and there was what appeared to be blood all over one of the lobby chairs. The elevators were similarly dirty and battered, and the skyway was missing light fixtures. The valets were weirdly pushy, making us feel rushed in and out of our cars and asking if we were checking out every time we can walked outside. They appeared to be very young. Didn't particularly want to use valet but parking options are limited. Porter was helpful and friendly on check-in but neither he nor luggage carts were anywhere to be found on departure. None of these things individually matter all that much. We were safe and centrally located- but as a special stay for a special occasion, it was very disappointing. Would have done better staying at a budget chain where at least they would have pretended to appreciate our business. Note that they have surcharge for early and late checkout as well as most typical amenities.

Great experience, perfect hotel for those taking Amtrak to Providence

I love this hotel. Such an amazing experience here. Everyone on staff was wonderful. The customer service was exceptional, and I will only stay here from now on when I travel to Providence. It couldn't have been better! Great accommodations, loved the free coffee and WiFi. Excited to come back again next year—if not sooner.

    Fine for Providence

We were put on the 25th floor. I work at a hotel and never understood why guests ask not to be placed near the elevator until this stay. The mechanics for the elevator must have been directly over our room because all we heard was a constant whirring from the elevator. At first it wasn't awful, but after a while it gets to you. The service was fine. Tevin at the bar is a rockstar. There was another bartender at Fleur who seemed a little annoyed when he was asked questions about the drink menu from other guests and that was a little uncomfortable. The room was clean and comfortable and the valet was so quick with getting our car. It is tough to get out of the front circle, though, if there are people coming and going. We got stuck in a bit of a jam both times we got our car.
