Great food but not great room/front desk

Food, drinks and holiday experience were great. Front desk was not as courteous and any request was a chore. Did not have access to bathroom in one room on last two days of our stay. Toilet overflowed above us and dripped into our bathroom from ceiling and spilled out towards vanity area. No apology or consideration from hotel; essentially just wiped up with bath towel and no accommodation of any kind.

    Great for kids but pricey

The kids activities are great which is why we chose to go here. It was our first visit to Amelia Island and we normally go to Destin. Comparing this to Destin is difficult. The beach is not the same quality. The resort is ~25 min drive to the main city so if you don't have a car you're kind of stuck. The service is good but the food was subpar especially with the high prices. Two bottles of water are over $20, for example. We also had an unfortunate encounter with vermin at the steakhouse.

    A five star stay

The resort was very beautiful. And large. Check-in was easy. Room was spacious and clean. Pool was very nice. Easy walk down to the beach. Bars and restaurants were all top notch. Staff was very attentive and friendly. Wi-fi worked well. Property was well maintained.

    Worst dinner of my life.

We made reservations for what we thought would a class experience and a culinary highlight of the evening.Unfortunately what we experienced is what I would liken to my days in boot camp. The food a mixture of turkey, mashed potatoes, supposedly sweet potato casserole but it was just piece of sweet potato. Some kind of green been casserole, turkey stuffing all of which was just piled on our plate in some non descript manner.Aside from the presentation it was just plain inedible. We paid $44.00 for the worst dinner I have never eaten. So much for a traditional Thanksgiving dinner or rather slop.
