A really lovely resort
Beautiful resort! Upon arrival we were upgraded to the El Beso adults only side to accommodate our request. The resort is huge and there are several pools, a beautiful beach, and a wide variety of restaurants. Everyone who works here, especially Juan Luis, was so friendly and welcoming. There were plenty of fun activities to partake in throughout the day. I am looking forward to coming here again, we have a wonderful time!

10/10 Stay! Can’t Recommend Enough
I can’t say enough amazing things about Ocean El Beso the rooms are stunning, grounds are amazingly kept and the food was amazing. The people and their service really make the difference though. You are never without someone checking to make sure you have everything you need. Everyone at the El Beso pool made my stay so amazing Juan Luis, Leonela, Juan Carlos, Marcos Paredes and all the entertainment staff! I can’t say thank you enough!!

Overall good, some improvements…
I’ll preface this review by saying that we have had a great holiday, however there are a few things positive and negative to call out about the resort. Check in was fine, super quick and easy after a long flight and our concierge Angel was really friendly texting us everyday to check if we need anything and to let us know what was going on, Jose the bell hop brought our luggage to our room within 15 minutes and was very bubbly and smily. They don’t give you lots of info however so download the app as it’s useful. We are British and the tipping culture is a bit of a shock so be prepared - given the North American influence tipping is expected and sometimes even asked for (gross) regardless of service levels we came prepared with some dollars but it’s annoying when you aren’t used to it of course tipping is fine when service is good. There’s a few staff pestering about a welcome gift don’t be deceived they are marketing, and a couple of staff pressure you to leave reviews so be aware when reading the less objective ones ☺️ The Food: Other reviews slated the food however we thought the food was pretty good, sort of thing you expect at an all inclusive it’s never perfect when mass cooking but plenty of options for different food types. The main complaint we had was the need to provide you room number and be escorted to a table and have to then wait sometimes longer than it took to get food to get a drink - scrap this and have self service beer/coke/etc and it would be miles better! The a la carte restaurants were easy to book - we used the steakhouse, Italian, Mexican and American - steak was ok, Italian was disgusting but Mexican and American were nice with tasty food and a good break from the buffet. Mikes coffee was ridiculous full of Americans/Canadians queuing out of the door with Stanley cups I went once and didn’t bother again. The Drinks: The drinks at the bars and poor bar were really good there’s lots of choice, the local beer is nice and the pool staff were great especially Crisel she works so hard all day taking drink orders and even bringing us drinks when she saw we had finished without us asking she had a constant smile on her face and was just lovely. The Rooms: Our room was lovely - clean and spacious, and refreshed everyday with clean towels and products we had no complaints at all about the quality of the room. However please bear in mind that there’s 3 floors each block I would advise you to ask to be on the third floor because our upstairs neighbours were disgustingly loud stamping ab into the early hours - you can also hear through the shared wall so bring some earplugs/headphones if you are a light sleeper. Unfortunately a few families let their children play in the courtyard no idea why when resort has ample open space including them kicking footballs at our door. We also had a little gecko break into our room and although he didn’t bother us the maids spotted him and pest control came to deal with him poor little guy! There’s also a lot of cats on the resort and couple dogs - we loved them they were friendly and clean but be aware if not your thing ☺️ The Pool: The pool area is nice although the loungers could do either refreshing - getting a lounger is another story. The resort was full of Americans/Canadians who got up at 6am to hog loungers even though there is a policy to not reserve and the hotel don’t do anything to prevent this it was irritating to have 90% loungers reserved even at 7am by people who sometimes didn’t even show up. The culture difference also meant a lot were very loud by the pool I know people have kids who want to play but there’s so much space there’s no need to get in other people’s personal space, splash and scream constantly. Additionally a lot would leave rubbish around which blows into pool it’s just disrespectful to the nice space. The beach was a little rocky but there’s plenty of loungers and a lifeguard, the cove to the left is lovely and turquoise and easy for a swim even on red flag days there’s lots of seaweed but can hardly complain it’s just the ocean being the ocean! Overall we still really enjoyed the holiday, we never travel to the same place twice so ordinarily won’t be back but do recommended it as it’s been a lovely trip. The weather was a little wet a couple of afternoons however was easily 30c most days with lots of sun, so do research as to best time of year to visit the island and pack a brolly for the odd shower as only one in rooms.

First time visit to El Baso!
We had a wonderful time at this resort! Lots of activities to do on the El Baso side and the beach was wonderful! Emmanuel made sure to always keep us entertained with activities during the day and was one of the highlights of the trip! The meals at the al carte were great and really enjoyed the Italian restraunt.

Sola Vacay
Aritza is very nice. She gave me a free upgrade to my room so I was closer to the beach and had a rooftop patio. Everyone was very nice and polite. The ladies at the door at the buffet are so funny. Only complaint is my room smelled a bit like mildew/mold. I did let the front desk know and "fixed" it but it just lessened the smell. I will be back for sure!
