The staff works very hard to provide a great experience. Yulibel was a great hostess. Would highly recommend for a family or couples trip. Great vacation destination for your first time or if you’ve been to the Dominican Republic previously.

From the moment we arrived, the overall atmosphere created by the staff was extremely disappointing. The attitude of the team across various departments—from reception to restaurant service—was surprisingly rude and, at times, outright hostile. As guests, we felt unwelcome, as if our presence was more of a burden than anything else. Basic requests were met with eye rolls or cold responses, and there was a clear lack of warmth or hospitality throughout our stay. I requested glasses of water for the table I was sitting at on buffet/main cafeteria. The waiter decided to ignore completely my request to begin scolding me about an additional chair I had to move into the side of the table so we could all fit in. When we thought he would bring the water by because he was refilling the water jug, he decided to walk past us. Forcing me and a friend to grab a couple of the tables cups to fill them. It was once he saw we had already gotten up and came back, he left the jug on the table. Hospitality is a core component of any resort experience, especially in a destination known for tourism like Punta Cana. Sadly, this was missing entirely at Ocean Blue & Sand. It’s difficult to enjoy the amenities or the beauty of the location when you feel constantly disrespected by the people who are supposed to be making your stay enjoyable.

Nice resort, very clean and friendly staff. The food is very good. I am a picky and fussy eater but have to admit that I was impressed by the buffet spreads. they had just about everything under the sun. Salad bars were fresh and abundant, hot stations were just as good and all stations are kept clean and proper. And lunch dishes did not repeat in the evening buffets. Restaurants were also good. We enjoyed the Japanese, French and Mexican. The steakhouse was also good but we were very disappointed with the Italian food. I am Italian and can confidently tell you not go there. Mike's coffee house has all types of tasty coffees and they also serve fresh sandwiches and pastries. What we did not enjoy was the restaurant reservation system. This needs to be seriously updated. You are required to access the reservation app on your phone to reserve however it only allows you enter at 7am to place your reservation for that evening. The problem is that by 7:05am all restos are fully booked so we had to wake up early and standby to enter at exactly 7am otherwise we would never get a booking- this is ridiculous! And you can only get one booking per day. The positive side is that you only need to do this twice, once for the steakhouse and again for the Japanese Sensai. Another issue we did not appreciate was that everyone heads out to the pool and beach at 4am to place their towels on the chairs to reserve their seating. Yes you read correctly- 4am...everyday! This goes against hotel policy but everyone does it nonetheless. Worst part though is that many folks who reserve their chairs only show up late in the afternoon which is very unfair to someone standing around the pool looking for a place to sit. Luckily we travelled with my lovely cousin who didn't mind at all going down to the pool everyday at crack of dawn to reserve our seats. Halleluiah for her insomnia! A big shout out to the hotel mascot Pinky!! She is a pink flamingo who lives on the resort and can always be found on her favorite spot which is on the grounds by the walk path. All travellers walk by to take pics. The resort has open shuttles like long golf carts and everyone yells out to Pinky when they drive by. The evening shows are fun, karaoke is enjoyable and there is an excellent pianist playing for you in the lounge while you enjoy a cocktail. All in all a fun resort with lots of activities and games.

Great experience at this resort, from start to finish! Before we arrived, I worked with Ezequiel, Guest Experience Specialist over email - he was so extremely helpful and responsive and made sure I was set up with my Privilege upgrade and helped me get my transportation arranged - it really helped simplify my arrival and set us up for a relaxing vacation. Once at the resort, I was impressed with the check in process - we were able to start off with a welcome drink and a quick check in! And we were able to enjoy lunch at the buffet and go to our room a little early. I was impressed with the condition of the room - everything was very comfortable and had everything we needed. The pools & beaches were great. Daniel in the Privilege area was so amazing - so attentive and friendly and made sure we were taken care of! Everyone else on the team was also very helpful. The staff at the Privilege Lounge and Villa Marina were great. We had breakfast there every day and it was so nice to start the day with good food and friendly staff! And then to see the same staff at the steak restaurant at night - you can tell the team was very dedicated and hard workers! And our butler, Albin was the greatest! Always kept in touch and helped us arrange all reservations and even helped us reschedule a few - it really made for a great vacation overall. I can't wait to visit again!

I had a fantastic stay at this hotel! One of the highlights was definitely the Daisy Club — it’s such a great addition, especially for families. The club is open every day from 10 AM to 5 PM, which gave us plenty of flexibility during our stay. The staff there were so friendly and welcoming, and they offered a wide variety of fun activities to keep the kids entertained all day long. Whether it was arts and crafts, games, or outdoor adventures, there was always something going on. It really made the trip feel relaxing, knowing the little ones were having just as much fun as we were! I’d highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a family-friendly getaway.
