* **Ocean View Deception:** I paid extra for an ocean view room, but the view was completely obstructed by trees. I couldn't see the ocean at all. * **Hot Water Woes:** The hot water in the room was barely functional. We were lucky to get a few drops. * **Limited Dining Options:** The hotel only had one small restaurant, which resulted in incredibly long lines for meals. * **Noise Disturbance:** Loud outdoor music played until late at night, making it impossible to sleep. * **Lounge Chair Chaos:** Lounge chairs by the pool were reserved very early in the morning (by 6am!) and the staff did nothing to address this issue. Overall, my stay at was very disappointing. I would not recommend this hotel to other travelers."

Enjoyed my stay at beautiful hotel. Excellent service, people are very nice and helpful. Food was fresh , well prepared and delicious.

Amazing service
Marisol Cardenas in the restaurant was amazing. So attentive and kind We asked for her every breakfast and dinner. The grounds are sooo beautiful and well kept. It is our second time here and we will definitely be coming back again. We so wish there was bar service on the beach though.

First Club member since 2013. First time here! Was nice to get upgraded with a balcony and get a partial view of the pool and sea. Sand from resort to water has some debris in it so water shoes should be used, but beach was always clean and walking on wet sand was nice. Love the sound of the 3ft waves crashing on the beach. Waves seem calmer in the afternoon. Sunsets are great most nights! Spent most of our time at the Royal / First Club pool area, although main pool seem to be having all the fun. All pools are clean and those that tried it loved the Royal hot tub. Royal Bar service was great at the pool with Canario Horacio taking great care of us for the 2 weeks we spent there. Wasn't too crazy about the Mariachi as a dinner restaurant, but was great for afternoon dining. Loved the Italian restaurant....Lasagna to die for....... Didn't try the Japaneese restaurant. Buffet was great any time with friendly staff and good selection of food, unless you arrived late or near the end of meal time. Special shout out to hostess Yaqueline Robles who welcomed us enthusiastically everytime. We know she was feeling under the weather during our 2nd week, so we hope she's feeling better. Rooms were cleaned in a timely manner, with little extra if any no matter what we left on the bed or in the bar fridge as an appreciation. Although Xcarat is our home resort, this one ranks as being one of our favorites. Shopping mall along with popular fast food joints is available just across the street and beach vendors are located just off the property on the beach under the hut. They love to bargain!

Our 8th Vacation with the Occidental
We returned again for our 8th vacation, back once again to the Occidental! It was an excellent holiday of 14 days, Everything was first class, the service, the food and the resort! We are looking forward to coming back again in 2025!
