Mar 10, 2025It was a wonderful trip, the town of Puerta Vallarta was beautiful, it had great restaurants, shopping and site seeing.
Staff was wonderful throughout the hotel, especially in the dining area and Restaurants. Rooms were immaculate. Everything was easy, housekeeping staff were awesome anything you wanted the made sure you got I. I highly recommend this resort.

Occidental all inclusive awesome
Awesome service, Marko the best server. He knows and remember what we like. Food is great. Great location. Strongly recommend Occidental all inclusive resort. We are here 31st time and we love it. We come here twice a year. We really enjoy the time here.

Great customer care
MYRA AND ALEXIS WERE VERY HELPFUL AND EXTREMELY FRIENDLY AND PROFESSIONAL. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS RESORT. FRIENDLY FACES AND GREAT ATMOSPHERE AND WONDERFUL LANDSCAPING. ALL STAFF HAVE BEEN EXTREMELY ACCOMADATING. FOOD WAS DELICIOUS AND STAFF VERY ATTENTIVE. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

stayed at this resort with 2 kids and another family of 3. Location is good with nice and clean beach. Room condition is poor with much maintenance required. In my room, bathroom sink drainage issue, patio door lock broken, bath room lock broken. The pool is decent but the towel counter closed too early.

Mar 10, 2025Great trip March 1 through 8
Stayed at the Occidental March 1 till 8, 2025. This is a smaller resort then some we have stayed at in the past but is on the same beach as all the others. Overall we loved the resort as it is quiet and definitely not a party oriented resort. The main buffet is open for breakfast, lunch at (1pm) and suppers. The Mexican restaurant is a smaller buffet open only for lunches and ala cartes. We attended all 3 ala cartes and loved the Japanese and the Italian the best; nothing wrong with the Mexican one but just not our style. The bars have decent selection of alcohol but nothing high end unless you pay extra but they have lots of it and are quick with the service. Hotel room cleaned regularly and fridge restoked only had one issue where they forgot towels but they rectified immediately when I notified them (less then 5 minutes) Pool area has standard white chairs and umbrellas and the pool its self is heated ; did not see much evidence of the towel game where people leave them out and then leave. There is no swim up bar but they do serve drinks around the pool and the servers are top notch; FYI no food is aloud at the pool to keep the grackles away. There are zoomba classes, yoga classes and water aerobics daily. Something we appreciated is that there are very few speakers around the pool so talking can be accomplished without yelling. Towels are exchanged daily if you want. Beach is great very flat and wide and you can walk to the North for miles; to the south you can walk about 0.5km to the pier. Staff are very friendly and willing to help; some of them do not have much english abilities but we always managed to make do. Of special note there were no timeshare people and nobody pushing anything other then a massage. The only thing that could be better is the check in on Saturday took longer then we liked as there were both people checking in and checking out and they only had 3 staff handling a large group of people. Will for sure look into going back next year.
