Booking this hotel was a nightmare.
I booked this hotel from a website one month before my Christmas vacation trip. I paid the full price with “all taxes and fees Included “ at the booking . But when I arrived at the hotel, the front desk asked me to pay more money for “fees “. I said I have paid for the full price and showed her my reservation confirmation. Then the lady immediately said “ok, I cancelled your reservation, because you don’t pay the fees “. It was already 8pm, I need the place to stay. I argued her it was not fair that she cancelled my reservation. Then the hotel called the local police and I was drove out of the hotel immediately by the policeman , even i promised that I would pay the “extra fee “, as it was too late to find a place to stay around Christmas Days. But the local police took me out of the hotel anyway. It was around 9pm. I searched the web for the same day hotel outside of this hotel at the street, took me a hour, finally I got a motel 10 miles away, I slept there that night. I never met such hotel that could so easily drive guests out at night when she/he booked ahead with full pay, especially with police force. During the time I was looking for hotel at the street near this hotel, i saw another police cars 3 in row with flashing lights driving to the hotel entrance, they must go to drive another guests out like me , poor people!

Dingy but clean. Loud construction next door.
Dingy but clean. Next to a construction site. Even though the hotel was far from full, we got a room with a view of the parking lot and with construction going on right outside. You have to walk to the lobby to get water. The pool is weirdly located on the second floor overlooking the busy street.

Great for business trips
Maui Beach Hotel is a convenient location in Kahului. The staff at the hotel are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean, cozy, and perfect for my business needs. I enjoy the casual and welcoming feel of the lobby and the overall layout of the hotel.

Excellent customer service
Excellent customer service! Our friends stayed at the hotel and we helped them check in. Guest Services Supervisor Minnie Pahuwai provided a warm welcome, she was very friendly, kind and helpful. Minnie responded to all questions and happily offered information about Maui. At the end of the check in process, she presented them with a snack and beverage gift bag as well as one reusable plastic bottle per guest to use with the water dispenser in the lobby - great alternative to regular bottled water. The rooms was very spacious and clean, facing the pavilion in the center of the property as well as the ocean. It was clean, the mattresses were firm. They had a good nights sleep. Maui Beach Hotel has been revamping their lobby and rooms. Compared with other hotels, it is an affordable option for travelers who would like to stay in Central Maui and also prefer a "local vibe" to a "standard (mainland) chain hotel/resort".
