WELCOME TO HELL - AVOID THIS PLACE

Well… where do i start with this absolute hell-hole of a place…!!! I had made a booking online approximately 24 hours before arrival, the value of the booking was around $550 for 1 night, so not too cheap. Upon arrival, all seemed good, but when the check-in process began DISASTER! Although I had confirmation that the booking was confirmed and pre-payment had been taken, I was informed that no booking existed for me and not only that, but they were full. I am from the UK, it is approximately 18:30 and myself and partner are basically stuck in a strange place with the reception personnel not giving the slightest care about the trouble they have left us in and just telling me there is a crappy motel over the road, try there! I asked to speak to the manager, she would not come out and speak to me because she obviously did not care… hotel was full, so just let these people struggle I guess was her attitude. The hotel did not wish to assist us in any way… had a terrible attitude and did not even wish to assist with getting our refund returned. I have worked around the world for 30 years and stayed in all level of hotel in many countries… But never had treatment as bad as this from any of them… No matter how bad the problem, they simply do not care!!! AVOID AT ALL COSTS

    Great customer service

Charming hotel with a great view, and all the amenities one would desire. I was there for an on-site conference, and was fortunate to be in Building 2, which is located between the two buildings with ballrooms. Hotel staff and housekeeping were extremely friendly and helpful.

    Santa Barbara Sunsets

Great location and view. Suggest requesting a higher floor for better view and more privacy. Great outdoor common area with a fountain a several fire areas. Beds were really soft which some may like but it was a bit too soft for me. The patio was great size with a small table and four chairs. Higher floors have smaller balconies and only two chairs.

    Favorite Santa Barbara hotel!

We love the location of the Mar Monte. We can easily walk to the Wharf as well as downtown SB. We also walked to Montecito. At low tide you can walk all the way on the beach to the Miramar too. Danielle at the front desk always helps us out. We are globalists and we appreciate how well we are treated during our stays at the Mar Monte. The breakfasts were delicious! Very fresh! We hope to return soon!

    Fantastic staff & comfortable beds!

This is a wonderful hotel. I've stayed three times and the staff are always fantastic! The beds are very comfortable, the rooms are nicely appointed, and the location is perfect. You will not be disappointed if you stay here! I always look forward at my time at Mar Monte.
