    Thumbs up!

    This gym was by far the best i experienced while vacationing. The water was always in-stock, fresh towels were always available and the facilities were clean & tidy. Blu(i think is his name) was very friendly and always keeping busy with refilling the cooler and providing paper towel for sanitizing the machines, he also provided a great selection of music to workout to. The equipment is modern, working properly and seems to be well maintained. Great job!

    Best tiki bar I have ever been too Fernandito and Ana are the best tenders I have ever been with, great drinks, friendly environment, and my favorite drink tiki bar is Fernandito’s secret drink 200/10 easily. So much fun would come back to them every visit if I could

    Poor customer care

    The resort itself is very beautiful, however upon departure from the hotel. Myself and a few others have our luggage tags to the staff and they did not load the transfer bus with our luggage. We were told to board the bus and we assumed they would put our luggage on as we seen them loading the bus with everyone else’s luggage. Long story short, we had to arrive back to Canada without our luggage ( 7 pieces and a stroller In total) myself, my mom and a friend and our two toddler daughters are now without most of our belongings and there are very important irreplaceable items inside. It has been a nightmare to even have any communication with the hotel. They are barely responding to our emails, despite us being on them and our travel agent helping us out. They did confirm by photo that our luggage is still there and told us our only option would be for them to fed ex it to us- on our dime. Which would be thousands of dollars. They are taking NO responsibility for ensuring our luggage travelled to the airport with us, despite us doing what they told us to do- give them the ticket and board the bus. My daughter is constantly asking for her favourite stuffy and blanket and belongings left behind. It has been 5 days since arriving home and no one has taken the time to call us and/or get this sorted immediately. It’s all ignored messages and here and there responses, with no accountability or assistance. They truly do not care about their customers, only getting you in the door. I would advise against visiting this resort.

    A Truthful Account of Our Stay

    We recently stayed at the Majestic Mirage. Our first impression, unfortunately, was not good. When we were waiting to check in, we were commanded to take a seat by an agent who worked there . I had not eaten on our plane and was very tired and hungry. I went over to the snack area for guests to find something to eat. Our check in agent told me to hurry up and finish my food. His demeanor was unfriendly and inhospitable and almost rude. When we went to check out, we sat at a vacant desk marked check out. This same person treated us with the same coolness and told us to sit on the side. We did as requested and were ignored as two parties came in after us and were checked out as we waited. When we checked in from the way we were treated, we felt like we had made a mistake in choosing this resort. However, that changed because our butler, DeLeon was really terrific. He went out of his way to find us and meet up with us every day and ask if we needed anything. He was very nice and personable and took ownership of his job, which is rare in today's world. He is truly an asset to the Majestic, and I hope they appreciate him. The people who greeted us and served us at the restaurants, particularly the seaside breakfast buffet were very nice and would go out of their way to satisfy us. Our junior ocean view suite was beautiful. We could have used more hand towels because I like a separate clean hand towel to dry my hair. The air conditioning in our room was freezing, but we told DeLeon, and this was eventually regulated to a more comfortable temperature. The bed and pillows were comfortable. We loved the robes they provided us. The pool and beach were beautiful, and we enjoyed the complimentary bali beds. The grounds were upscale and well maintained. There were places in this resort that felt magical and places that reminded me a little of Vegas. There were many people constantly working around this resort to keep it in tip top shape. We loved the evening entertainment which included a different band and a different show every night. We also loved the walking path around the mangrove because my husband and I are birdwatchers and love wildlife. We did see some interesting birds, and the pools of water in the mangrove are teeming with fish if that is your thing. We did come down with traveler's tummy even though we drank bottled water. I would caution people not to drink the restaurant pitcher water even though they say it is filtered and to be careful not to use tap water when brushing teeth. Also, drinks like pina coladas, etc. contain crushed ice. We wished we had thought of these things beforehand. We did eat in the seafood restaurant, and their lobster was huge and delicious. I also had the shrimp tempura as an appetizer which was very good. The Italian restaurant is very elegant looking with murals on the walls, but the food is disappointing for a restaurant that gives the appearance of fine dining. However, the antipasto table is a winner. The French restaurant was pretty good. All in all, despite a few minor things, we had a nice time. The Mirage is laid back and quiet. If you are looking for a livelier atmosphere, I would stay at The Elegance which looked like a lot of fun.

    We Heart Amable

    Had such an amazing time, Amable might be our favorite part of our trip! He was so helpful and always made sure we had everything and anything we needed!! Pool side bartender Omar made sure our drinks were the perfect balance of strong and tasty and Juan Bernardo got us anything else we needed, he even made sure I got my shoes back when I left them poolside! The staff even made every dinning experience fun, Marcos was always there to make sure we were seated and well taken care of and Nancy is the life of party, making our drinks and just being so fun! Great first time experience will 100% come back again.
