Basic elements are missed
The basic elements that a hotel should have are missing. The pillows are old and not cleaned well, the rooms are cold and when you want to heat it, there is a loud air conditioning noise. The shower in the bathroom does not work and the bathroom has no chance of heating. There is no guest relations. There is a fan in the room coming from the bathroom and it is constantly making noise. We had a very bad stay. It needs serious renovation. It would be good if they also received training on customer satisfaction as a hotel. We wait more then hour for maintanence of shower. We are getting late to the park. Unfourtunatley the hotel staff is unfriendly. Nobody is smiling. Nobody look like happy. Everybody who work in this hotel are unhappy i dont know why perhaps becuase of their conditions.

Loews sapphire
Stayed here for my sons high school graduation in 2019 (late getting this review in) We absolutely loved this hotel! Hotel amenities were great! The pool was amazing and loved the lounge chair service with food and drinks, proximity to universal was fantastic loved taking boat to universal and being dropped off at front door! we did walk a couple times and it's very close proximity because of the walkways were nice with the Waterview and beautiful gardens around them.... highly recommend this property to anyone that is going to Universal or other activities nearby

Truly horrible
This hotel is horrible. I don’t how it has such good reviews. Room is dirty, customer service is completely non-existent. I asked to change rooms - here for 6 nights and mine has a compressor outside the only window. Also, as a woman alone, I don’t love being on the ground floor in a dark corner. They refused because “all standard rooms have the same view.” The hotel is almost completely surrounded by water, it’s not physically possible that all standard rooms have a view of a compressor. I asked to pay for an upgraded room, and they refused that too. Because I booked the room as part of a conference/hotel package, they will not believe I paid for the room (they think the conference paid, even though I offered to show them the receipt) and therefore I can’t make any changes. That, combined with the horrible 70s decor and the $100/night charge for “incidentals” that will be refunded if I don’t damage the room, makes for a dreary and depressing experience. I would never choose to stay here. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere with a least a passing familiarity with customer satisfaction and rooms with decor that has been updated sometime in the last two decades.

It's the little things - this is likely a one and done for our family
We stayed at this hotel from November 6-10, 2024. First - let me just say the hotel is clean, comfortable and the staff are friendly. The shuttle service to the parks is also a plus. That being said, it's also very expensive. We booked a two-bedroom lock-off for our family of eight. This cost me over $4,000 US for four nights. It had one bedroom with a king bed, a living room with a pull-out couch, and adjoined to a double queen room, plus two full washrooms and a partial washroom. It also has a "kitchen" which is totally underwhelming for the type of room. In fact - it didn't make any sense in that type of room to basically have no kitchen. It has a tiny sink, a one-cup coffee maker with two coffee pods and a small bar fridge in a room that can sleep 8+ people. We have a toddler and so I asked if we could please have a microwave to prepare some of her food, milk, etc. They told me if I wanted a microwave, it was $15 US per night. Above and beyond paying $1000 per night at this hotel, I had to rent an appliance for the room. The same was true if we wanted a toaster or any type of appliance to prepare food. (We laughed about it because the room included a large dining room table - but nothing to eat on - so we bought paper plates, solo cups and cutlery). My parents kindly stepped up and said they would cover the cost of the microwave since we had paid for the room. For me - it's the little things like this that turn me off a hotel. I hate to compare it to a Disney hotel, but we've always had a coffee maker, microwave and toaster in our Disney rooms - even studios. Everything here felt like a money grab. Parking for $30 a night - $15 per night for a microwave (both also subject to 12.5% tax!). Additionally, I had to agree to put an "incidental" fee on my Mastercard that is supposedly returned as long as I didn't charge anything, but the microwave was charged to the room after all, so I'm not even sure I'll see the money refunded to my card. All in all - this was a one and done for us. There are many, many lovely hotels in the vicinity that accommodate eight people for less than half the price (and you have everything you need up front). We likely won't return - which is sad because it is a lovely property.

Mould in the bathroom
Mould in bathroom, we had 3 young kids with us and there’s no way to open a window, so this was a health hazard. We discovered the bathroom fan was not working, so perhaps this is the cause. Some money was taken off our bill, but this 100% did not reflect there being a health hazard in the room. Furthermore the pool lifeguards are more like whistle happy fun police. If it were not for the above we would have loved our stay (easy to get to Universal, friendly staff and fine accommodations.
