    Newly remodeled clean rooms

We've been staying here for many years. The price has always been reasonable. Recently they remodeled many of the rooms and they are clean and in good shape. It is a little noisy because I40 is close by. It has a decent breakfast selection and the lady that takes care of the kitchen area is very efficient and friendly, we always make sure to leave her a tip in her tip jar! The staff at the front desk are always friendly and helpful too.

Ghetto hotel - felt very unsafe.

The hotel is run down, ghetto/low rent atmosphere. Had blood stain on walls, bloody hand print on door. Beds were nasty and dirty, along with the floor. The wi-fi password didn't work, Bullet holes in ceiling. Be wary, you get what you pay for.

    Do NOT book here.

I am stunned in disbelief. This property is absolutely the worst hotel I've ever had the misfortune of checking into. Traveling back home to Arizona, I passed through Amarillo and found a La Quinta by Wyndham, which are usually pretty decent...except for this one. When I got to the room, the door looked like it might have been kicked in at some point. Not a good feeling. Upon entering, I found it so dirty (see pictures) that I was speechless. But whatever, right? You get what you pay for. However, when I pulled back the covers, there was women's hair in the bed. I'm a solo traveling bald man. I called the front desk and was kindly offered a free upgrade. The upgraded room was just as dirty as the first. Again, not a huge deal; I just needed to sleep, shower, and get back on the road in the morning. The room was 56 degrees when I walked in. I turned up the thermostat and waited 15 minutes, but the unit never turned on, which was especially frustrating because it looked new. I tried to call the front desk again, but the phone in the room wasn't working. I went back to the front desk and asked if it was too late to get a refund. She said no, apologized for all the inconveniences, and told me she had issued the refund. I was skeptical that it would be that easy. I rebooked a room at the Four Points across the street and had a very pleasant experience. Even the gentleman working the desk there had nothing good to say about the La Quinta. The next morning, I went back to the La Quinta to double-check that I was indeed getting the refund, but was told no; the previous desk person had only checked me out of the room, not issued a refund. I was told I would need to speak to the GM. I called Priceline to try to resolve this, but neither Priceline nor La Quinta is trying to remedy the situation. I'm at a loss. It's not about the money; it's about the property manager being so greedy that they won't take care of anyone who books a room at the La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Mid City Amarillo, TX. No stars.

    Good place to stay.

The rooms are clean and the beds were comfortable. They also had a nice and helpful staff. I would stay here again. The prices are also very reasonable. There is highway traffic nice but barely noticeable. This location has a lot of options for fast food close by.

    Good value

You get what you pay for....it's a very economical room. Bed was clean but I did see a roach scurry across the dresser. Has been recently refurbished (paint/flooring)....................................................................
